I was introduced to this music from watching Szpilman's performance of it in the 2002 film, "The Pianist". (Performed by Polish classical pianist Janusz Olejniczak)
More recently, this piece was played by Kousei the final episode of the anime series "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" (Your Lie in April).

Classical music is truly the greatest genre of music in my opinion. All the anger, passion, emptiness and pain that Chopin managed to convey in this one piece of music, it's unbelievable! A true masterpiece from a musical genius. I wish more people of our generation would appreciate classical music.

I just love how not even Chopin wanted the piece to end. I thought the piece ended three different times but NOPE! We get to enjoy just a bit more of it! Oh what would people do if Ballade No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 23 wasn't composed? I would go crazy considering the fact that I need my daily dose of this piece! If only Chopin was here to see all of the appreciation he gets, not to mention the love played towards his pieces. I believe one day, we could see Chopin, playing that Golden Grand Piano in heaven. May his soul rest in piece...

And this, folks, is why you learn to read music, and do it daily and work on sightreading, so that it doesn't take a literal month to read through a piece before you can even start practicing it for real. Being a poor reader really slows down my potential when I try to learn just-out-of-my-reach pieces, and I'm combating that by going back to the fundamentals. Starting with sightreading Twinkle Twinkle Little Star level stuff..

24 months every day for an hour, scanning the sheets of music i have finally managed to play the song but very very very slow, i have played piano since the age of 3 but dropped it at 12 due to my parents over pressuring me but the piano found me again, and what a way to scream emotion through a piece as such, Ballade has no competition in the world of music, i challenge anyone to my opinion.

This song can summarize life, the first part is childhood, getting bullied thats why it's negative then, you marry and have kids and your life is positive and happy, then your spouse leaves you and takes the kids, then you struggle with life, hence the part with all of the chords, the final part when it teases you, is when you are struggling to stay alive and how you can't hold on any longer. The end is when your life is over.

What The Helicopter (大和美琴) pretty sure it's kinda insane to learn it from synthesia. The beggining yea, but when it hits the dramatic part synthesya messes up your coordination due to it's speed. That said, ppl who want to learn this must really have piano experience, finger technique and amazing hand coordination, resulting in being able to read the sheet music:D i think i've seen you typing somewhere that you gave up on this. we share the same story. Planning to give it another shot though. Gl to you 2 pianist fellow;)

What The Helicopter (大和美琴) Hahaha, yes i guess you're right. Though, It all depends on how much time you're willing to spend and how good your skills already are. Also, we all have our strengths and weaknesses, i would say that my strength is, learning by sight (synthesia) i simply find it much easier than learning through notes and theory, this is probably because i never really bothered to do my theory at the early stages of my playing the piano.

i like classical music and anime, are we entitled only to liking one of the two? Both are forms of art. Both are colorful and tells a story. Both are created with passion and hard work. We should think that the two can be appreciated genuinely at the same time. Now, time to listen to aria da capo while sketching. Please dont leave a reply on this comment.

@@kirararagi an anime. It's called in English "your lie in april" it's a pretty great anime that deals with a pianist who has refrained away from the piano and meets a violinist who urges him to jump back in and also becomes her accompanist for her violin.
