The trial has started in the case of a Russian American woman charged with treason in Russia. Ksenia Karelina was born in Russia, but has lived in the United States for about a decade. Russian prosecutors say she was "proactively transferring funds to a Ukrainian organization." Family and friends say the 33-year-old spa manager and ballerina donated $51.80 to a Ukrainian charity in the U.S. If convicted, Karelina faces a sentence of 12 years to life in prison.

It is not true. Has your media ever lied to you about American matters? Sure, it has. Why do you believe it is telling you the truth about Russia? This 33-year-old raised large amounts of money for Ukraine's military. That means she helped k ll Russian men on the frontlines. No, it is not $51, but the media wants you to believe this lie.

I checked Russian sources about this case. Her family and friends may have claimed she donated $51.80, but Russian authorities say that she's done more than that. She organized fundraising for the Ukrainian military several times, raising anywhere from $100 to $1000 each time. These amounts were sent to a charity that helps the Ukrainian army, and she was very vocal about supporting Ukraine. According to Russian law, any Russian who helps the Ukrainian army commits treason. I cannot believe a 33-year-old woman would think it would be okay to visit a country whose men SHE helped to k ll.

Did you donate to Saddam hussein army when US invaded illegally the country to steal oil? I doubt it. You would be tracked by fbi and arrested. What do you think in war you can donate money to buy arms by an enemy of your country? You can donate for non lethal aid. If they arrested her surely it’s because she boasted about it on social media and commented otherwise they would not know who she even is.

Not a full story. She was initially detained on Jan 27th for hooliganism involving disobedience to a legal representative of the authorities. Ksenia Karelina staying outside near the Zarya cinema used obscene language, behaved impudently, aggressively (probably drunk, no official information about alcoholic so ever). She did not respond to the calls of the regular bystanders and the demands of law enforcement officers, after which she was detained. The Court placed Ksenia under 14 administrative arrest. During which the law enforcement personnel made a checking procedure on her where the funding of the enemy state was found. It was not the only transfer by her to military, but multiple. However the prosecutor was able to prove at least one, the very first one that was sent from her personal account. On Feb 8th the Court sent Ksenia Karelina to a pre-trial detention center.
