The Traska doesn't have a scratch resistant coating, they heat treat the steel to increase it's Vickers rating substantially.

the baltic crown is a dealkiller for me. baltic bracelet also looks cheap but i don't use bracelets especially on a field watch

The contrasts are hard to overlook, making the chosing difficult. The best edition for me would be the Baltic dial with the Traska case and bracelet, and a polished bezel. Thanks for the video.

Clearly, we need some workshop to fit a Baltic Hermertique’s dial into the Traska case. 😉 This Baltic crown is pure style over function and you haven’t mentioned that one cannot wind the movement. It needs to be shaken Seiko 7S26 style to start. It was fine on a sub $200 SKX007 back in the day but is below standards on a $600 modern watch. I love both brands with a slight bias for Traska based on recently buying a Commuter model with this fantastic Woodland green dial

That combo would be the perfect GADA watch! I could wind the movement on the Baltic, it's just finicky to grip the crown but it's doable. Great choice going with the Commuter - I hope they release a white 36mm of that soon! 😉

Thank you! Funnily enough, the Traska dial looks great on its own. But once you put it beside this Baltic it definitely looks a bit flat. The depth on the Baltic dial is really something else.

I purchased the same blue summiteer last year and for me it’s the perfect GADA. 36mm is now my go to size coupled with the short lug to lug, it just sits on my 6.75inch wrist perfectly. Also that scratch resistant coating is amazing. Surprised that the big Swiss manufacturers haven’t looked at this, as it would preserve their expensive watches and keep them looking like new.

Same here! It's hard for me to want another GADA after owning this Summiteer. It just ticks so many boxes. Come to think of it, you're right. I've seen hardness coatings from Japanese brands, German brands, and microbrands, but I can't recall any Swiss brand using them. 🤔

Thank you for this comparison vid. I know the movements are the same but since Traska advertises as being regulated in four positions, not sure if you've found it makes it more precise?

Baltic also regulates the watches and provides the timegrapher print. I believe it should be similar.

A great head to head and you are right, they both offer great gada options. I have been looking at these since my disappointment in the Smiths Everest but....I ended up going another way entirely. I am waiting for my Farer Black Velvet to arrive next week. Decision Made 😊

great comparison video. Both watches are great and look amazing too. I would have a hard time choosing one of them. I think for me the Traska makes more sense with it’s scratch resistant coating and polished everything I would have a hard time beating it up. On the other hand the Baltic is so good looking especially that dial! Difficult choice man. Thanks for your time and for making such a great video for comparison.

@@WristWatchingI have had the Baltic for 3 months and it did not get a single scratch. Usually all my watches get scratches after a couple of days. I believe it has to do with the very low profile of the case and the sapphire glass, there is little exposure.

Thanks for the comparison. I love the looks of both of these watches, though I personally would prefer the 38.5mm Traska. That extra size might give it an advantage in selecting between the two. That being said, I like the green Baltic Hermétique the most and blue on the Traska, so maybe there's room for both in the collection. 🤔That is good to hear about the Traska bracelet as well, because I'm also considering the Commuter. That is a bit shocking about the Traska lume, but also a bit surprising that the Baltic did so well as Jody from Just One More Watch found the lume on the Baltic to be lacking.

If you like this style, I think there's room for both in the collection. That's the great thing about Traska, they have different sizes to cater to different wrist sizes. The Traska lume was a QC issue. I'm still waiting to get my watch back from warranty but I hope that solves it! Regarding the Baltic, Jody reviewed the brown dial with green C3 lume. The blue and beige dials have blue BGW9 lume. Maybe the BGW9 they're using is much better than the C3? t🤔

By my definition, if the Baltic’s bracelet is a fingerprint and scratch magnet it wouldn’t be a GADA watch for very long. Sure, it can be replaced by a strap eventually, but it’s like you said: I can only evaluate what is in front of me.

My thoughts exactly. The Traska bracelet is brushed and it even has that scratch resistant coating, so it’s practically going to look new for years to come.

Wonderful video as usual. QC issues are only an issue if they’re common and the manufacturer doesn’t provide excellent support. If those two things happened, ok, if not stop wasting our time.

Those thicknesses of 8.75mm seem too thin. Maybe it doesn't including the crystals?

You’re right, it’s excluding the crystals. I forgot to mention that in the specs but they’re still slim even with the crystals included: the Traska is 10.6mm and the Baltic is 10.8mm.

I love both these and Im leaning towards the traska but the finishing on the traska hands are rather shocking for the price. It’s very bad. I believe you got the thickness numbers wrong. The numbers you showed are if you do not count the domed crystals. Important to note.

You're right! It was an editing mistake. With the crystals included: the Traska is 10.6mm and the Baltic is 10.8mm.

@@turnbasedtoddy7664 Personally, Traska. I’m a bracelet guy, so the great bracelet on that is a huge plus. I also prefer the brushed case instead of the high polished surfaces of the Baltic.

I guess you're playing it safe. You don't want to burn any bridges. I like traska , it's a better and nicer aesthetic.

Very much the same, but very different, as stated by others in their comments. I think the Traska is the better tool/GADA watch, while the Baltic is the better dress/GADA. So choice would be based on if you want to dress it up or down. Both are great and no wrong choice here.

Spot on! It’s almost impossible to choose a clear winner here, so it really boils down to individual preferences.
