Bamburgh Castle Inside Tour Northumberland

2 жыл бұрынA tour of the magnificent Bamburgh castle inside and out. It sits up high on a rocky escarpment of 9 acres overlooking the Farne Islands and Holy Island on the North East Coast of England.
It has a 1400 year history from a timbered fort to the huge fortress it has now become. It's owned and lived in by the Armstrong family who live in it to this day!

My sister and I visited the castle in September 2022, on holiday from the US to the U.K. Thank you so much for this video! Its great to see the State Rooms again, and related places where we couldn't take pictures that day. I'd forgotten about the pool table! :) This was a special day among great days for those 3 weeks.

My father and his sister were evacuated to live in the castle after their brother died in the bombing of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1941 they stayed there until the end of the war.

Hi Gary, Wow! Despite the sadness of the war time situation, it must have been quite an experience to have stayed there. Albeit, probably not in the luxury the owners would have had?
