For my first interview video, I have the honor to talk with Ogata Tokoyazu, well known since the Music Gold Rush interview where he was the one who recommended BAND-MAID for the show.
During his interview, Ogata-san will talk about his professional life and how linked to BAND-MAID he is.

Bandmaid should become more mainstream in Japan. There's not much I can do for them right now, but I want to support them as much as I can. @@CLANG-MAID I don;t agree !-----in fact, I think we are all too obsessesd and fixated on the fringe groups of little-boys-trying-to-be-tough -guys that we lose track:---it is supposed to be about GREAT MUSIC !!!---Nothing else. We need to stop being afraid of offending the precious, pretentious little boys always trying to flaunt themselves a "Tough Guys".---they are not!----just pathetic egotists desperately seeking attention. Band Maid are who they are. Period.----anyone failing to hear/see it.....too bad. your loss !

Bandmaid appearing at Lopalooza was far more important than many people realised (apart miku and the band) because it represents a move into the music mainstream. I'm sure it made people sit up in Japan as well. Getting on the NHK TV music festival was a big deal too. Way heavier than I think the audience are used to but being bandmaid also digestible.

Very nice interview, didn't know Ogata-san had such a long career in the J-rock scene. His voice is great, kinda in the same register as Koshi Inaba, which is one of my favorite male J-rock vocalists ever Also having on board as a voice actor for the manga series?, that's awesome!

That was pretty cool. Thanks to both Ohrenje, and Ogata San. The Gold Rush Appearance was great for the girls at the time, and we still send the newborn maidiacs to watch, and learn about the band. @14:50 or so, he echos my feelings toward them. It is sort of remarkable; they aren't from my hometown, or even my country or my generation - yet I have this sense of pride in what they are accomplishing and becoming. You find the same feelings there as you do here; when John Reaves went to Hong Kong he met these people, when Ryan Mear went to Tokyo he met them. You meet them in New York and Chicago and Dallas and Los Angeles. People make things to hand out, or make videos about them. It's something else. They seem to change people for the better.

Thank you Ogata-san for supporting Band-Maid since they were a small band. I'm listening to TUBTRACK as I type this. I genuinely love it. As an Iron Maiden fan, this kind of metal is very much my thing. I look forward to hearing you as a voice-actor too. EDIT: After listening to more, tubTRaCK are also diverse. It was Call Name and some of the other clips from the live compilation video that gave me Iron Maiden vibes, but there's other stuff that's completely different. Nice!

Great interview! Thanks Ohrenje for putting this together and thanks to Ogata-san for taking the time to do this. He seems like a great person! I hope he knows how important his suggestion has been to the Band-Maid community. The Gold Rush interview has provided a lot of knowledge, laughs, and memorable moments. And I think it's amazing that one decision like that can have such a huge positive effect on so many people all across the world. Plus, he's got a great voice and the music is actually really good! 緒方さん、よくぞ発掘してくれました。ほんとに、感謝。私は67の爺です。Cream、Zeppelin,　Jeff Beck,　その頃のにんげんです。Jazzも聞いたし。しかし、Band　Maid　みたいなのが日本に誕生して、それを緒方さんが見つけたのは奇跡的でしたね。Saikiの喉が心配になったりしますが、緒方さんというお父さんがいると知って安心しました。

The Golden Rush interview is such a classic - every Band-Maid fan has to watch it (several times for most of us 😄).I love the nice community around the band, and Ogata-san is an important part of it. Everyone has his own way to help, that's great!

Thank you, Ogata-san for being there and helping our beautiful and favourite band, especially in their fragile formative years...sigh...imagine Band-Maid playing at those tiny venues (200 max capacity...) and selling their own merch after their shows..😢...but, yeh, I like that his favourite song is Thrill, I think that song is very very special to a lot of us too😊. I'll definitely be checking out his music and looking out for his upcoming voice-over performance! Great, great, stuff!👍

If I had been at an early Band Maid concert, I would drag an interpreter to their table and tell them emphatically " I will do whatever I have to, to make you known in the United States ! You will succeed.. NEVER give up ! ". Well, I thought the same thing when I discovered them during the lockdown in 2021. It hasn't been easy...but the few fans I have helped create are just as rabid as I am ! There can be no " lukewarm " when it comes to Rock & Roll perfection ! Thank you, Ohrenje for your tireless love and support and presenting Band Maid in the utmost professional way ! ♥️🇯🇵😁🕊️

I love the interviews with Band-Maid and Ogata-san, very funny. When he asked the maids about their charms, I cracked into tears. Miku the pigoen that everyone kicks, Kanami loves Saiki, Saiki tsundere girl, MISA drinking habits, Akane big eater and gorilla drummer. Can't wait for the evening to come 🙂

There's a before and after you watch Band-Maid's interviews. With a few songs by them heard and thanks to several comments keen on the matter I decided to look for them and found Kannai Devil's and GR's interviews and they made me realize the band was something special so they were a big part of me feeling connected with the B-M. A big thanks to Ohrenje and his collaborators for keeping the fire fueled and of course Ooooogata-saaan~, the sixth member in the shadows 🤘🕊️

This Ogata-San interview was super interesting but a bit short IMO. I would have liked more questions, especially his personal relationship with the members and what he thinks about the quality level of their own musical compositions and also what other songs he likes or which Band-Maid albums. Amazingly cool interview! I'm actually shocked that Ohrenje was able to contact Ogata-san! It's so cool! Ogata-san has very cool music. I especially liked the group ASH - amazing music! tubTRACK is also interesting! It's very nice when older musicians support young bands! Now I'm really wondering who Ogata-san will play in "The pigeon who dreams of singing". Will he really play himself? We'll find out in the future! Thank you Ohrenje for this amazing interview! I hope you can do even more interesting interviews in the future! Thanks to Ogata-san for his support of BAND-MAID and for participating in this interview!

I am excited to hear Ogata-san in "The Pigeon who Dreams of Singing!" This is exciting and unexpected! Also, I know nothing of Japanese rock music other than Band-Maid and recent other Japanese bands from the last few years, so I look forward to discovering Ogata-san's music, then and now.

Nice interview. Looks like he lost some weight. The heavier version reminds me of a cleaned up Natsuki from Abroad in Japan. You might have asked him if there was a collaboration with Band-Maid in the future, possibly singing on one of their songs.

お・が・た　さぁ〜ん？絶対いい人だ。 band-maid推してた方がバンドをやってるとの事で聴いてみたらビックリ‼️すげーサウンド。バリバリのスキル。年齢も近いので聴いてる音楽も近いのかな？と思いました。自分も当時スラッシュメタルやグラムメタル、デスメタル、ＨＲはそれこそ売れ線BON・JOVIも全部聴きました。メジャーだけでは満足出来ずに輸入盤レコードまで買い漁ってましたね。とにかく「お・が・たさぁ〜ん」の様な方が推すband-maidは間違いない。既にそんな背景を過ごした年齢層に支持されていると言う事はホンモノであるわけでございます。 band-maid、凄いバンドになりました。嬉！

Really nice interview. Ogata-san looked different from the time when he was in Music Gold Rush show but good that we were able to see the musician side of him today. I believe that coincidence could happen when a person or group has a strong charisma to pull each other to meet one day and this is exactly what had happened between Ogata-san and Band Maid. Hope both keep supporting each other and achieve their dreams.

I had no idea that Bandmaid was able to appear on ``Music Gold Rush'' because of Mr. Ogata's recommendation. Mr. Ogata's history with bands and his personality were carefully introduced, and I thoroughly enjoyed the interview.

Toyokazu Ogata-san's singing voice sounds like Takashi Yamaguchi-san of Sambomaster. :) That was what I thought at first when I heard him sing. I'll look for TubTRaCK songs some more.

Apart from being a really interesting bit of analysis and history-------------- -Ogata's speaking is good and clear; --The English captions are very helpful; but don't go quite far enough for learning, ---- so,-IF additional captions in kana and/or romaji could be added, this would make a great help in learning to understand regular spoken Japanese ! i

名も無き女性司会者を「サバンナ高橋」と同じ書き方で示すと「9nineちゃあぽん」という表記になります。彼女はPerfumeのあ～ちゃんの実妹でもありグループはFGTHのRelaxをCOVERしたりトレヴァー・ホーンから楽曲提供を受けるなどしていましたが、全く話題になることもなく2019年活動を休止しました。BAND-MAIDとは同世代で昨年結婚しています。心底どーでもいー情報で本当に申し訳ない🙇‍♂
