I think the time has come to label Band-Maid as the Band-Maid sound! This band transcends anyone category and is uniquely an entity that stands alone. As impressive as many of the other Japanese bands mentioned which I am also a fan of for various reasons, they all more or less lack what these Maidens have. No other band sounds like them. It is proven by how indispensable each member is. You simply cannot replace anyone from this band without drastically altering their sound signature and that is truly a rare thing. Although this band has been established with a vast catalog of tracks under their belt which is approaching the triple digit range, I feel they have yet to peak and are only scratching the surface of where they can take this. So I say strap in and see what Unseen Worlds they will take us to.

Like many of the Japanese bands, they don't really care about our genre definitions. That is one of the reasons the scene there is so much more dynamic than ours. Artists here seem to get put in a lane, and if they try to break out, people get all butt-hurt about it. Good reaction OSN.

Band Maid can walk many fine lines in other genres because they are their own genre! Akane was really excited for this to be released, more so that even the "Kate" movie! Love how Band Maid can put so much into a song and have it still make "Sense"!

When you mix many different genres within a song if you don't do it properly it can turn out to be a mess... Anyway if you do it at the amazing level Band-Maid does... Well you simply have the best rock band in the world. Period.

Akane said a couple of weeks ago that she's been listening to some Arch Enemy to exercise her drum foot work. Great band, and yeah so unique they're their own genre. I like that the female dominated Japanese bands are pushing each other in new directions so you get Band Maid, and Nemophila, and Unlucky Morpheus, not just copies of Lovebites and Babymetal. Great reaction!

Starting with Unseen Word, the kick drum has been positively BRUTAL. I'd be afraid to wear a haptic vest while listening for the bruises it would make. This song is (not surprisingly) powerful and intricate. Not things that normally go together.

Glad to have Band-Maid back on the channel. Honestly I don't mind if they're not, if do to fear of copywrite, I understand. Though their new label seems to be much more at ease about it. Either way I know there's no way Old Skule isn't keeping up with them as much as the rest of us.

Remember when the "Thrill" MV came out and people were doubting the girls were actually playing the instruments? Where have the doubters gone? Is there any doubt now? The progress of Band-Maid from that MV to this one, especially Pigeon's guitar playing, is astonishing. As OSN said in an older B-M reaction, watch the "Thrill" MV again, then watch this MV to see how they progressed and continue. OSN, took your advice and watch this MV on their channel, every time I see and hear different elements. With my limited skill set, probably will need about 100+ more times to discover most of them, but I'm up for the challenge.

Not sure if I was the one that told you about this band but, I'm happy that you are checking out there new and now I have to go back and see your other reactions to there other work now that I know you been doing videos on this band. I love this band so much. What I love about BAND-MAID so much is almost every song they do they allow each other to have a little spot in the song were they can show off and they do that well. A lot of song have bass were it just sits in the mix for just for the purpose of having bass but, there songs always has a sick bass run and on top of that right along side a guitar solo and even drums. You can really tell to with this last song they kicked it up a bit. The solo part of this song is just insane not that there old stuff is not but, you can see them really going for it and growing as a band. Keep it up OldSkuleNerd Love your videos!

That´s the reason i am rating Band-Maid higher than EVERYBODY! They are versatile! They don´t stick in one genre and that´s it... Pop, Rock, Funk, Punk, Metal, Jazz... Name it, the maids are already present in that genre. It gives me so much satisfaction and joy! Without this band i had lost my interest in music many years ago and it was an eye opener how lazy and boring most of the other artists are; ESPECIALLY in the west! Greetings from Germany

Its always difficult for me to explain my japanese bands (not just band maid) to coworkers. Because they do some weird, genre borderline shit thats not exactly a specific genre but kinda also fits lol And it doesn't help that I didnt grow up listening to a lot of american music so ita hard for me to find the right words or other bands to compare them to.

I like Red Eye more than Earthworm but both are pretty insane. Think Lorna Shore level of musicianship and style but Japanese. Their videos are also insane as well

I hated this song when it came out - liked the more classic rock vibe songs. However, after a few months I've grown to appreciate it. Musicianship is fantastic from all members -and Saiki is just savage - one of her all time best performances...

I recommended this band to you but I don't think I was the one who influenced you to listen to them. Very cool that you got into the japanese scene though. The bands in it get a lot of shit but they are so fucking good. Band maid has gone from strength to strength.
