They use their phones as back-up, but Miku, Saiki, and Kanami really are trying to learn English. At their Detroit St Andrews Hall Okyu-ji, Saiki was doing a Q&A with the audience and although she had her phone in hand, you could tell she was trying to translate in her head as much as she possible. They always give their best!

Yes...Saiki was truly going the extra mile in Detroit...as was Miku when she addressed some Canadian fans. As I recall,she let them know of the Maids desire to play in The Great White North . If they come to Toronto... It's time for a Road Trip !

The one T-shinji translated was of Miku and Misa doing an opening of the Yokohama Limited Edition. The latest English video is just a short one of Kanami and Saiki briefly chatting about the Yokohama disc release. Kanami also put out a couple English videos on there a week or two ago that are a minute or two long of her before the Yokohama show. The one you have on screen in this video is of Saiki talking about the limited edition, but it’s unfortunately also in Japanese so us western fans will still need the help of a translator on that one.

It won't be long now..... they'll speak to us in English alright. Just give them time, and we'll understand them easily enough. Wow, Band-Maid. They never stop improving themselves. That's why they get so much respect from all of us, right?

Saw them live last year in Houston. One of the most impressive things I noticed is how their English has improved. It's very impressive considering how busy they are and how different English is from Japanese.... I wish I was motivated to learn Japanese like that. I love the culture.

I know they have been studying English for oversea concerts, but I wonder if maybe Kanami specifically is learning English as she wants to make collaborations easier, without needing a translator and the awkwardness that could entail.
