Mincho on harmony vocals...and Miku doing her best vocals. They also do this song as a ballad. Often people forget that Miku was the original lead singer...she fired herself and hired Saiki. Whether it be on piano or guitar, Kanami is the consummate musician.

Even as a four piece ,I would still love this band. Miku magic indeed. She is so endearing and Kanami sounds good in harmonies. But Miku was right , when you add Saiki on top of all that, they become world conquering standard. Thank you Pigeon. You are loved by all us Maidiacs .

My favorite Miku BAND-MAID song. The music and arrangement are by Hitoshi Okamoto. Miku wrote the lyrics. Love that line: "Watashi wa ikiru.". ("I live", or "I am.… living my life.")

Thanks Wave! Great job as usual. All these girls are awesome, each in their own ways! If this were an American band, there is no way that someone in Miku's position would have the ever brought a lead singer (Saiki) in that would serve the band in the best way possible. Miku's voice is good enough to be the lead singer in any band.! They are all about what is best for the band, the song and even the fans! Too much ego and in fighting in American bands. Kudos to all the girls in the band, and to the Japanese culture in general!

Ok so ever since they came out with unseen world, I always considered the Miku song on that album “sayonakadori” as her best song. But how quickly I forget. I LOOOOOVE TIME!!! Such a good song kuruppo!

This was the performance where Miku got to show her growth as both a musician and singer, remember it's not easy to sing while playing. We had a tasty peek of that during their youtube live when she sang Big Daddy by herself while playing her acoustic guitar and Kanami was so proud of her. I look forward to more Miku solo songs in the future and hope she does a solo acoustic live playing both band-maid and cluppo songs. Sayonakidori is still my favorite Miku song. Being a fan of BAND-MAID since 2014, I never felt so proud seeing how far Miku has grown as a guitarist and a singer, and her lyrics writing has also improved. I also noticed every time they play okyujis, Miku now adds more to their songs than their previous okyujis, especially she adds riffs, leads, licks and back vox in their 2nd verses. *Actually during her speech at the end, she wasn't really pretending to cry, she was really emotional. The reason was because Kobato time might be scrapped and that was the last time, and the band members teased her that she was pretending, especially Saiki totally not believing her.

They played this when I last saw Band Maid in london. Sounds amazing live, loved every second of it! Agree with you about the nostalgic feel too, deffo reminds me of songs from the late 90's!

Miku always has a song or two she does while Saiki has a kip. Plus her little comedy turn. To be honest Miku can turn her hand to doing most thing. Presenter, Travel Guide, Comedy turn, Actor, lyricist and singer. The others are brilliant musicians but are quite shy. Without Miku coming forward and annoying them the band just wouldn't be Band Maid.

Look... we all love Saiki, and she's so important to what Band-Maid is. But I would listen to this band too :) 🕊🕊🕊 Pigeons will save the world! 🕊🕊🕊

Miku deserves so much credit. Imagine being surrounded by those world class musicians and then having to learn guitar from scratch so you can play live with them (AND sing on top of that) in front of thousands of people? She must have really worked her butt off to get to this point.

One of my favorite songs by them and heavily underrated. Kanami's solo is kinda short but goes so beautifully with the song and provokes emotion. Here's to making each day the best it can possibly be because time doesn't wait for me, time doesn't wait for you.

Charisma ... and ENERGY! I also enjoy watching her do "Rock in Me". It seems they always write MIKU at least one song per album. She has earned it as founder and lyricist. There are no bad BAND MAID songs ;) .Maybe someday we will get Wave to listen to Sayonakidori ;) .

On BAND-MAID's European tour in the summer of 2019, she started the song playing the chorus as the intro on her Zemaitis all by herself. That takes a lot of courage, for which I admire her all the more.

I remember learning to sing and play at the same time and yeah it was difficult. For me it came down to matching the rhythms of the melody and chords, but this means I have a lot of trouble with songs where they don't line up (ex. Play That Funky Music). I'm glad I did it though, because it's the most fun I have as a musician. This was a really cool song and it was great to hear Miku on main vocals for it. There's a lot to her singing the we don't get to see and this was different from her Cluppo stuff, too, so it was especially interesting. The overall sound reminded me a lot of Miracle of Sound, who does a lot of original songs based on video games, so they tend to have that epic feel to them. re: BG. I've often seen Japanese streamers talk about their BGM, meaning the background music the play during their streams. So that's probably what Miku was referring to in her speech. Thanks again for another great video!

Next Kobato song should be Rock in Me Live from their Zepp Tokyo show.And I guess there are only two possibilities when it comes to Japanese and its english counter part, japanese would either be longer or shorter in some circumstances

Pardon my asking. The “riffing under the vocals” you attribute to Kanami at around 9:00 mark… it’s kind of coming out of the left only on my earphones. Does that mean it’s actually Miku playing it? Because Kanami usually is on the right. I would actually usually assume Kanami and plays these sort of thing as well. But because you pointed it out specifically I actually paid attention to where the sound was coming from.
