The lyrics for Unleash!!!!! is about their frustrations being locked down during the pandemic and finally being able to UNLEASH themselves onto the world again. There’s an exclamation point for each member of the band. My personal interpretation of the MV itself is about the Band-Maid history. The dark clouds in the beginning depict their struggles early on but Miku's red rose blooms and is going hard on playing Thrill by herself, a reference to the long hours of practice she had to do to learn how to play. Miku looks determined and satisfied that the band is ready for the world and takes to the sky. The maids flying across the sky while playing their instruments depict their many successful world tours. They land triumphantly on a Western US desert mountain which is a reference to their 2019 tour of NYC, Dallas and LA. They are engulfed in black cloud again, which is the Covid pandemic that happened not too long after they got back to Japan from that US tour. The next scene with them looking dejected in the studio is about the cancellation of their Live concerts due to the pandemic. They start playing again with their online shows during the lockdown and people are watching from their homes on their computers, phones and TV. In the final scene, back to the Western US mountain, a direct reference to their 2022 US tour, but this time they triumphantly plant their flag, claiming Domination of the US. They in fact dominated the stage in all 14 cities all across the US, including a large scale rock concert, Aftershock, in California.

First 20 seconds of this OMV contain scenes from five different OMVs (Saiki: Blooming, Akane: Domination, Kanami: Alone, MISA: Dice, and Miku: Thrill). At the end of this OMV, they changed to new outfits.

Fans can spend hours going through the animation and spotting where each of the early scenes come from and which original music video they come from. Brilliantly done. Looking forward to Rinne one of my all time favourites. 'It's sink of swim shut up' ....no not being rude that is the last line in the song. Enjoy.

Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their “AniMaid” (anime) Covid-fighting "Unleash!!!!!" MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! So many easter eggs in this video

One of the things I like about reaction videos is, we get to see the beauty of a song or a video through someone else's eyes. Watching the pure enjoyment in Sofi's eyes and in her body language is wonderful to see. This song/video came out right before the 2022 US tour and was a rallying cry for all of who had been couped up and restricted during Covid. All of us, Band and fans, were Unleashed finally! This song and especially the video really captures all of that emotion. Thank you Sofi for another great reaction! 😊🕊🎸🤘🥁🎤

The shot at the end is actually a new outfit reveal. The real-life band is wearing the -2 versions they wore during the pandemic. They reveal the -1 versions that they wore up until the current versions that debuted at Yokohama Arena in November of last year.

This is something I wrote a while back about the meaning of the video. YMMV The monster, the darkness, is despondency, despair, no dreams, no hope. In the first part they are all in this darkness except Miku who has her dream of the band but she needs the others. The pigeon flies and finds them and brings them out of the darkness into the light of a shared dream. That hope, that purpose gives them flight. This part is just them, personal. Then the COVID restrictions hit, and the lifting and then renewed restrictions crush out not just their hopes and dreams but the hopes and dreams of all, worldwide. Slowly they awaken, Saiki first then the others, and little by little, dan dan didi dan dan, they start to bring the light of hope back to themselves and through their online concerts bring it back to their fans. Now they smash this monster and with renewed hope set to bring light of joy back to the world.

I still think that this anime deserves an entire season or more! 🔥🤘🏻 The attention to detail is insane! I'm just saying, the opening scenes that 'introduce' us to the ladies are all scenes from previous MVs and the story of the world-encircling smoke monster, which probably represented a certain annoying virus at the time, can also be fleshed out. I just wanted to say, Saiki is not Snaggle-Toothed. I myself have slipped and thought that. She has Yaeba Teeth. In Japan, rather than fix it with orthodontics, that is often used to encourage it, as it is considered a sign of youthful beauty. And, in case this is news to you, BAND-MAID have done Anime Theme Song commissions. "Glory' for Yu-Gi-Oh RAINS, and more recently, 'Shambles' as the season two closing theme for the Netflix anime, Kengan Ashura. Their Power Pop Masterpiece 'Blooming' sounds like it should be in a anime, but isn't.
