I will never get over how badass Luffy using his blood to defeat Crocodile was. It’s so just such a pivotal fight. Vivi screaming into the void always hurts me. She’s literally at the end of her rope and all she can do now it’s plead. Ugh it’s all just so emotional!

Captain Smokers is a figure who taught Tashigi the meaning of justice itself, so he left Tashigi to make decisions that he thought were right... Smokers are cool, he's one of the Marines who is truly fair... even the government elders whose orders are absolute, as long as he doesn't like them, he rebels... Cool for Smokers...

Remember what Nami said when the crew + Smoker were locked in a cage in front of Crocodile? As far as I remember she said something like this, "Hey! If Luffy get out of this cage, he will beat you so bad and send you up to the skies."

Luffy beating Crocodile and the symphony in the background is one of the best moments in early arcs. When I tell you I stopped breathing completely I am not joking. Props to our crew and how hard they're fighting for Vivi. The scene with Pell was beautiful 😢

The new word symphony playing as Luffy beats the shit out of Crocodile was poetic as f*ck, I get chills everytime Also kudos to Pell for being the silent hero of this battle Smoker at the end oh boy..... THATS MY FAV MARINE YALL !!!!

Whoever decided to break from One Piece's own soundtrack and instead use Dvorak Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" as the orchestration for Crocodile's defeat deserved a raised. It to this day stands out as perhaps the best theme for Luffy finally conquering a tough opponent. Not to mention the title of the symphony is perfect for One Piece and retroactively acts as a bit of foreshadowing. Also whoever decided when they were making the Alabasta movie to replace Dvorak Symphony No. 9 with the same theme used when Luffy defeats a completely different opponent deserved to be fired.

Using his blood was just so bad ass of Luffy. Probably my first ever "Luffy was already my fave character but this is a new level of badass" moment because of him. Crocodile really is a Bond villain, layers upon layers of planning. Like he is not stupid, and so far his biggest flaw was underestimating the Strawhats. Also, isn't it crazy how everyonce in a while we kept on cutting to the clock tower the moment we knew there was a bomb, "plans within plans." "The more you learn the level of this sea, the more you'll give up on having such dreams!"- A projecting king. Seems he once had dreams of his own he cpouldn't fulfil, unless getting the Pluton is his dream, then I guess this sea hasn't broken him yet...I wonder. The way the orchestra starts to build from when Luffy breaks the hook is just 🤌🤌🤌....Great work from the music department for making it sound so epic. Punching him through the bedrock, onto the surface, with violins playing in the background is just pure gangsta shii man. And to think that it comes full circle and concludes with rainfall is beautiful man. Hina can can chase me all over the grandline to her heart's content and I would not complain, reead me all my miranda rights in 3rd person even. Till the next drop

Smoker=Badass! It's so satifying when Luffy over comes all the pain and beats down the baddy! Great ending, with the desperation in Vivi and the music and everyone still fighting. Then when the rain hits and there's this quiet. Out of 1000+ episodes it's still one of my favorite fights. Great job guys.

Smoker catch a Baroque Works ship off the coast of Alabasta that was using dance powder to steal the rain from Alabasta kingdom.

Kinda funny, the first Baroque members we met were Miss Wednesday and Mr.9, the Bye Bye Baby guy.. and the last members we saw were Mr.7 and Miss Father's Day, who were kinda the same like the former duo.. Vivi as Wednesday if u remember.

Crocodile was definitely the stronger of the two, but Croc also made two huge errors; 1 - he underestimated Luffy, time and again. then there's Luffy and his tenacity was able to wear Crocodile down, must've been a long time since someone was able to touch him. now the battle is over, Baroque Works has been thoroughly eliminated, from all their star players to their boss and his insidious plan.

Smoker saying Go to Hell, or Eat Shit, whichever translation is correct, with the sound of Casino hitting a Ding.. its quite cool..Crocodile was about Bets. One of the songs by Croc. VA says "Bet your Way of Life" "Lets Play Game"..the Alabasta Game. If we apply betting on way of life on each of the characters here, thats very fitting, Luffy, Vivi, Cobra, Koza, Old Man Toto, Pell, Crocodile, Robin, Tashigi and Smoker.

When that Classical Music hits at I think 18.21? And goes to the end of the episode it's what makes this fight against Crocodile soooo EPIC! And get's me hyped and I have seen this fight 5 or 6 times now and I still get emotional at the end of the episode *not in a sad weepy way but Luffy v Croc with music hits different and it's a emotional YESSSSS at the end!

29:15 (Comment readers please let me know if this is a spoiler for the next 2 episodes) Umm I don't think so... The main reason why it didn't rain was because crocodile used the dance powder... So basically the dance powder's main thing is that it makes the prematured clouds burst before it should which is so funny because this was made more than 25 years ago and just recently UAE has invented something similar to counter global warming lol... But anyways, he used the dance powder right before the clouds reached alabasta or right as it reached alubarna or past alabasta so it wouldn't rain anywhere else in the country and if it were crocodile that made it not rain, they wouldn't have suspected the king... and because they know the properties of dance powder, they figured it was being used and by kobra(keep in mind the one piece world isn't very scientifically developed, at least not of right now)

I am sometimes surprised with the expression flexibility Brannon has, given how reserved he is on camera.

Looking forward to the last three episodes. Onto the next Saga, then after that it's my favorite Saga in the entire series, it is PEAK!

Alabasta arc is almost over, Im proud to say Im still here😎 rewatching One Piece with you guys. With this pacing Im sure you guys will catch up in no time 😎.

late comment but just a side note for the end of last ep: The subtitles were changed to censor it but Smoker didn't say "go to hell" to the government he actually told them to "eat shit" 😂 which I think is better.

I think y'all are into the next arc a bit, so I can say some vague things pertaining to Alabasta as a whole. There are many arcs in One Piece but only four end in an especially conclusive manner (and the third may surprise you!), the rest feel more like "the story is definitely ongoing past this point" the first was at the end of Loguetown. Everybody agrees on this, East Blue feels like a prologue to the rest of the story. The second here, in Alabasta shows Oda's growing pains. Nobody expected One Piece to last over 20+ years, and I'm certainly not saying you could end OP here, bunch of unanswered questions already, but there is a sense he pulled out all the stops here, with Croc, Vivi, the whole war. And so when time came for "the rest of the story" Alabasta's rough spots get ironed out a bit, episodes 128 on to the 130s, things get wrapped up almost too neatly and happilly compared to the frantic stress before and rather than a smooth transition, the next arc feels like a hard cut in the manga "now we're doing this" So I actually enjoy the brief chunk of filler the anime added in. Unlike how they extended the desert within Alabasta. But regardless, here, at the end of 127, with the rain falling down, the crew collapsed from exhaustion, and Luffy smiling despite it all. That's victory!!

I imagine you're already aware but episodes 131 through 138 are filler and can be skipped. From here on out, filler no longer contains any canon elements. There are still extra bits in canon episodes, but you can skip the filler without missing anything. I'd watch them on your own though. Some of those fillers are pretty good. Actually, there's one many will probably want you to react to, the one after the next arc.

You really need to react to the dub version of Luffy defeating Crocodile in ep 126, it's so good and Luffy's VA puts her all into it in that moment.
