D-TECTOR and D-SCANNER are totally different digivices. D-scanners are in japanese and does not have adventures mode in them. D-tectors are smaller and can battle most of the other 2 connectors digimon. D-tectors does not have save function but new battery can be replaced during blank screens powersaving (you have around 30 seconds to replace it).
YOU DONT HAVE TO PUT THE DIGIMON EVOLUTIONS IN ORDER in docks. As long as the digimon evolutions are available (captured after battle or code input) you can digivolve during battle. You dont need to put all of its evolution route in the docks.

some digimon code can only be inserted upon finishing the game, but most are available on ver.4. Higher level digimons cant be controlled from low level tamer, but if you digivolve them stage by stage during battle you can control then with ease.

Have to say the motion sensor on these things is hella shoddy, at least in some of the versions. In the version I had as a kid the thing was broke pratically right out the box.

Not just this. but almost all of the bandai products outside of Japan suffers from this problem. Screen fading, button failing and other stuff. But d-tector is just so awesome in term of gameplay I must try it none the less.

This is the only product of their I ever owned, at least that I can recall, so I have no basis of comparison, but yeah the d-tector game is really fun and I spent a lot of time with it but not being able to choose the digimon and the attacks you want most of the time gets annoying.

I think I had the ver 1.0 and there were two things I never understood: Why can't I put ancients in docks and why I got error every time I tried to input codes for Aldamon/Beowolfmon/Susanoomon.

Wave 1 didn’t have them on the device. That’s why. The cards were released in waves with the devices, so only the series 1 cards work with the wave 1 device. The problem is they never officially released the wave 2+ devices in America, giving us all this dream of having Digimon we couldn’t get.

Is inputting digi codes the only way to obtain digimon or will i be able to digivolve without?

You need to capture of next evolution form so you can regular digivolve, example is if you want agumon to digivolve in a battle you need to capture first a greymon.

I own both D-Tector and D-Scanner. I like D-Tector more than D-Scanner. Maybe because D-Scanner scan error is annoying.

IMO, D-scanner is such a hassle to play with and has no real quest at all. D-scanners sucks so bad that bandai didnt gave it a 15th anniversary version.

Could be possible but Frontier is barely popular. We dont get any figure related merchandise while Tamers got their in G.E.M figure line. Honestly its too late now. Next year is Pendulum 20th anniversary so they will might focus on that instead on make things that are could not possibly sell well. And if you remember Digivice, D-3 and D-Ark were priced like 9000yen. For D-Scanner that is not really worth the value if they retain the same gameplay. Did I said the scan error is annoying?

I have the d-tector version 2 us in koji colors. How do I play with susanoomon without getting a "error" message. What has to be done on version 2?

I know for certain there are 4 English versions of the D-tector series. North American received version 1 (gold star burst display screen) and 2 (silver starburst display screen) for certain, but I am less certain whether North America received version 3 (circular display screen like video) and 4 (silver body and circular display screen like video). From the 3rd party market, it appears version 3 and 4 were released/ were more prominently available in Europe and Asia market. From what I previously read in forums, only version 3 and 4 has susanoomon and each version has a limited set of digimon available. I hope this helps.

Yo man, I have a silver/red v3 d-tector and when I try to reset it, all of my characters are already lvl 30, and I have all the spirits Any idea what the deal is?

v3 and v4 starts at level 30 which is neat because you need to be at a nearby level to be able to use digimon in docks.

put weak digimon into docks and then purposely lose on the treasure chest mini games. until the digimon dissapears
