This is Dr. Brooks first year, and he has turned Albany State around already. I think he is putting the band world on notice!!! This will be one of the best HBCU Bands in the near future.

Will always have soft spot for morehouse. It was the first black band i ever saw. From columbus ga. Tuskegee vs morehouse was the first classic I ever went too. Always remember morehouse a hard school to get into. My high-school band director went to Albany state. Asu. Drummajor is from Kendrick hs. In the early 2000s. Albany state was a great band. Would love to see there numbers return.

In the late 90s these along with Tuskegee Morris Brown and a few others were the popular big time local bands of my area.. then I heard about this one band in Baton Rouge

With All The Good High School Bands In and Around The Atlanta Area Maybe Albany Will BE Able To Keep Some Of The Good Band Students In State To Build Their Program, And Stop The Surrounding States (Bama St, Famu, TNSt, NcAt ect… Big Bands From Recuiting The Musicians

Man, ATL has always provided band students for all HBCUs. There are plenty of musicians to go around. GA been feeding the band world across the country for generations and will never run out of supply .

Kb, you do realize that this is ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY the HBCU in Albany, Georgia, not the pwi in NEW YORK STATE??? An Albany state has had great bands in the past. Sorry, you missed out on that, though. The past couple of years, we have been lackluster, however.

ALBANY STATE IS LOCATED IN ALBANY GEORGIA OMG BRUH COME ON!!!!!! LOL...this was a classic they put together in New York BUT WE ARE IN GA in the SIAC (SOUTHERN intercollegiate athletic conference lol)

It’s giving Txsu Vs SU same dynamic with Brooks and Simmons both being Assistant BDs getting promoted and having their own band in the same conference now they’re automatic rivals.

I keep hoping that Morehouse will put more money into the program...but it seems like they won't. Spelman's Dance program is dope! Mahogany pushes through. ASU, glad to see y'all rebuilding. Bring that sound back! Passionettes always brings it.

Morehouses sister school is spelman. The women in the band are enrolled right next door at Spelman College, which is an all women's college😅
