Aggie Pride!! I hope this opens the door for more HBCUs to represent our fabulous, unique culture. I was able to witness the parade this year, awesome job by the BGMM. You're right @KBTheBandHead, they're aren't any HBCUs out West but they were received warmly.

To answer your question about the mellos, they really do sound like that. This season proved to me that it was really about the mellos after that fanfare they played at norfolk and hearing them up close at the gotham botb here in NC. They’ve came a long way!

It's interesting to see the feedback generated from the ESPN competition. Folks are mad about adjudication and at the same time programs have hid behind the sheer subjectivity and vagueness of public opinion for decades. Go figure. I love the fact that the road to an established rubric for the craft is finally out there. It's a start, but it's WAY overdue.

Very interesting indeed. Ppl literally had meltdowns in these comments over this competition. Caught me off guard!! I know the ancestors are proud but it be your own ppl tearing you down. I'm proud of ALL HBCUs. Congrats JSU #SBOTS, Congrats VSU, Congrats FloMo, Congrats Aggies! #AggiePride💙💛

They have a Great mix of “Core and Traditional style”. DCI marching Tone with HBCU SWAGGER…

They do not have a DCI marching tone. Not even close. But their tone is still great. DCI is just a completely different level of bandmanship lol.

You cant critique an art form properly if you arent aware of its elements. Drilling is more than pinwheels, step 2, flank and step 4 and 8. Curvilinear and design drills are based on the same principles from different perspectives. Just because you are used to seeing one or two forms doesnt mean others are not viable. People sound ignorant in the comments when they imply that their style is the only style, no field knowledge at all. And just because a band is diverse doesnt mean they are doing Corps style, those are basic and general drill techniques for ALL bands. Ask your band directors.

Correct, HBCU bands should cover all styles. Everyone looking and sounding the same is a recent trend meaning last 20 years.

Man don’t nobody wanna see more Pinwheels 😂… i’m starting to see some movements and some arrangements with some Spartan Legion influence… without the Spartan uniforms the movements don’t translate as well. I like the show though. A&T has always been the most innovative overall.

Speak for yourself doc 😂 A&T field shows are starting to remind me of DCI more and more. That's not a bad thing but I like showstyle. I've marched both styles before in high school so it's not new to me.

@@KBThaBandhead When A&T puts out content the usually put the show theme on the lowered third, but they stopped doing it. I don't know why.

Yes. The theme designated by the people who run the Rose Parade was "Celebrating a World of Music" so the show songs were based on that.

Since we talking about opinions...and everyone got one....i love NCAT sound.. beautiful sound..but they bland...like FAMU sound...but its boring...thats why i LUV DA BOOM..they entertain the crowd...they have power, they have that special something...NCAT is awesome in sound .n drill but they always stiff as a board!...in the pocket all day...which aint a bad thing..But as a HBCU...give us something...i can say they drumline awesome tho..but still if it wasnt for those toner bass drums...smh...thats all i gotta say...
