@@ExplorerNaba SORRY, it's `GAJENDRA' and not GAJRAJ. They stayed for 3-4 hours. I think booking of GAJENDRA is done only by Collector area concerned.

@@mridul1608 Yes booking for Gajendra is not available online and you can get it if you have contacts. It is considered as VIP cottage with AC facility. In fact other residents are not allowed to go near Gajendra. Strange…

Safaris are a big NO for a 6 month old baby because it will little dusty and also jerks as there are mud tracks inside the jungle and also for a reason you mentioned that these small babies may cry which is may not be favorable for a wildlife enthusiast you may be with. For 7 years, it is absolutely no concern for staying in jungle cottage and safaris. My daughter has been going to safaris with us since she was 3 years old, so go ahead and enjoy

It is little troublesome but yes you can reach. Take the Ooty bound bus from Mysore which takes the Bandipur jungle route. Get down at Bandipur cottage stop. The bus conductor would know where to drop you. Alternately you can hire a cab as well and go. Have seen many coming by cab. You can contact a cab operator to pick you up on your check out day

Consumption of liquor and smoking are not allowed in Bandipur cottages. There is no checking of vehicle or luggage

2 adults and 1 child can stay in a room. You don’t need to enter the name of the child. There is no option to add more than 2 names while booking

Thanks bro. 1. Yes bikes are allowed in Bandipur but not in Nagarhole forest 2. Yes you can book conformed bus safari ticket without fail. Just checked for 27th Feb and it is available online 3. Depends which safari you are taking - morning or evening. If morning of 27th, then checkin on 26th. If taking 27th evening safari, then you can checkin on 27th. Checkin time is 12:30-1pm 4. Harini cottage as leopard and sloth bear can be seen just outside the cottage if you are lucky 5. You can drive/ride to Madumalai forest range and take elephant safari there ans enjoy the drive through the forest Hope this answers your questions.

Bandipur Forest entry gate is closed from 9pm to 6am. Also if you tell them that you are staying in cottage, they allow you to go out before 6am as well so nothing to worry. Happy sighting

Hi, have you booked your stay in Bandipur? Where are you staying? There is no train from Bandipur but there are buses running from Ooty to Mysore which you can board.

Thank you 🙏. Food is not included in the room price, not even breakfast. They have a canteen which serves basic vegetarian food. You cannot expect any luxury or alacarte menu. Food will be hot and fresh. You get few options outside the forest checkpost though

This is an unfenced Forest guest house so animals do visit till your doorstep. We encountered sloth bear and leopard just outside our cottage at night. The cottages are fully hard meshed and you are also not allowed to step outside after dark. You can be inside and enjoy the wilderness from the sit out. During day time, it is absolutely safe and you can roam around. Go and enjoy but don’t step out after dark. They will aso tell you once you check in

It says because rooms are already booked. There is huge demand for bandipur cottages and people book them a month or so prior. Demand for weekend is even more. Try for weekdays and you may get availability

Bhai, that is a core tiger zone. Forget about bike in safari, you are not allowed to go out on foot after dark. Safaris are strictly done by forest department safari gypsy and buses. @@jaithra7095 Yes for Jeep safari, you need to book 2 weeks before the date as that gets filled up quickly. Bus safaris are rather easy to get much closer to the date

Most of the cottages here have 2 rooms each which can accomodate 2 adults and 1 kid each. So a total of 4 adults and 2 kids can stay. The booking site also takes just 2 adult names for each room. You will have to book for 4 people and have to talk to them when you reach there and accomodate the fifth person

@@swapnilmitra_0439 There are no private gypsy concept in Bandipur. Everything is arranged and managed by Forest department. Just keep checking once everyday. Previously it used to open 16 days before but now looks like they have changed the timelines or process. Giving number of Manju who drives electric buggy in the cottage. In terms od room quality, Cheetal and Kokila are the best but dont expect any luxury. These are basic cottages and no room service

Absolutely you can go on Mangala road but don’t step out from the car. Will be dark so carry a high intensity flash light to see the wildlife around the road. Will show Mangala road during daytime in a weeks time 😀

@@zigneshbiswal5288 Where are you staying in Bandipur? There are just 2 checkposts in Bandipur - One at entry and another one while crossing Karnataka border and entering Mudumalai. The checkpost is closed from 9pm to 6am. Once inside, you can do multiple to and fro in Mangala road and there is no checkpost here but keep the following in mind - 1. If staying in Forest department cottage, you should reach that place by 7-8pm and then not allowed to walk to your cottage from parking. They have buggy which will drop to your cottage doorstep. After that you can’t step out since it’s not safe 2. If staying in any property in Mangala village, you can do multiple rounds but it’s not recommended after 8pm as there will be elephants on the road 3. Don’t step out of the car at any time. There may be a leopard, bear, elephant anywhere on that road 4. Be safe. You are in core tiger and leopard zone

@@ExplorerNaba Actually we are not staying post bandipur safari. Our bandipur safari is from 4:30-6:30pm and post that we will leave for Bangalore. As we have heard that there are lot of sightings in that area, so we want to just drive around mangala village. So that's why wanted to understand if we can drive around mangala village and will the checkpost officials ask anything if we go at around 6:30

Here in South India, all safaris are totally owned by government. There is no private party involved here. You can book your safaris for Bandipur using the below link. You reach the safari point with the permit and a government gypsy will be allocated to you bandipurtigerreserve.org/index.php

@@technoz3299 You can also check i Khan's Gufa which is just outside the forest entry gate. You will get rooms there Also you have Bandipur Jungle Lodges and Resorts which are expensive but very good. It comes with 2 jeep safaris

There is nothing of that sort happens there. Someone is trying to conveniently move your booking elsewhere. Hold on to your ground and visit as usual. If they call you again, just tell them you dont accept and you will visit.
