The way fin screams is just so real in this episode you can hear the fear in his voice, as someone who was abused as a kid (though definitely not as bad as fin is in this episode) the way his voice breaks and how he hopes that jake will come to save him just really hits close to home

On top of what the other guy said, you gotta remember these two are used to each other just disappearing randomly to go out on adventures. It like me and my room mate. I tend to go out for days at a time and take random road trips across Texas. Hell I went to the Davis mountains the other day and I live in Houston. That's a minimum 3 day trip. So it's not necessarily that Jake is a bad friend. It that it's not that uncommon for one of them to go do their own thing. Throughout the series they go on their own adventures multiple times, and when one gets back the other just goes "Sup" and that's that. Unfortunately in this case, it was actually something bad happening.

For the first one, Jake wasn't currently aware of Finn's situation. By the time he saw Finn in the alternate universe, he already used his wish, thus not being able to help. The second one, you can see Jake was worried while eating the sandwich. He was saying things like "I need to save Finn," THOUGH he didn't really ACT on it until the very end. The third? Wtf, Jake?

When I was younger I understood the dancing pole reference, but I never realized how fucked up the whole episode is until now Edit: ok, so KZfaq is fucking stupid and it never notified me that this comment got SO MANY likes and replies. So to be clear: with "I didn't realized how fucked up this is" I specifically meant the fact that the whole episode is a reference to a pedophile kidnapping a minor. Obviously they changed the rape with using finn as a source of energy, but the parallelism with a pedophile's kidnap is still there, and when you are an adult and you understand it, is very messed up.
