Thanks God that there are still people who is using their imagination and make something out of ‘almost nothing’. We city people should learn from them. What we think that it is a piece of junk actually, front of our eyes become something marvellous. My grandpa made a ‘travelling bend-saw’ machine from an old Skoda (a Czechoslovak auto) and made a living by going around the farms in the area and cut logs up for fire wood. He was like you Tim and I am being now north of 70, that was not yesterday (1957). One more thing, your narrative is just so very calming. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

I'm the kind of person that needs everything organized and clean before I can work so it's refreshing honestly to see you build amazing things in the most disorganized and dirty shop I've ever seen, lol. Please don't take this the wrong way, I mean it as a compliment actually.

Thanks John - I would love a tidy workshop too, but there always seems to be something more urgent to do instead of tidying.

@@WayOutWestx2 Maybe that explains why you get more done than I do. Thanks for not taking my comment the wrong way. It really is a compliment to you. The important stuff is actually building, not putting it off because your workspace isnt perfectly organized.

Very impressive progress Tim, looks jolly strong. Many years ago, a friend took me to an historical "sawyer's pit" in the West Australian bush, where quite sizable logs were hand-sawn by 2 men, one in the pit and the other up above, to cut planks or slabs for Perth's early building requirements. Your saw will do a similar job, but in a fraction of the time. Looking forward to seeing the lumber put to use on your farm!!

A fascinating pair of videos! A great project. Not that I'll ever, ever, need to own/build a bandsaw... but it's just fascinating to watch your vision become reality. (And yes, I could lip read what you said when the pipe came flying down from the ceiling!) Inspirational stuff as always, Tim. Looking forward to seeing the next episode to see whether it all goes off the rails...

Quite the ingenuity, you are very good at putting our imagination to work. I love homemade equipment...and your attitude of if it doesn't work, you'll just make it again. Us Americans could learn from your patience :)I've subscribed and very much look forward to seeing your newly made saw mill in action! Thanks for the videos! P.S. I hope Mike notices you borrowed one of his car wheels before he drives off! Lol! Like your humor!

Great Job on both videos. I absolutely love the use of old materials. I have been doing research, to build one of my own. When I came across your videos. I can't wait to see it completed. Fantastic job. By the way your welds look great. Besides, it doesn't matter what they look like they just have to hold. Tennessee, in the US.

Tim you are quite the fabricator. I'm very impressed with what you use for material and how you do things. I like the fact you put the safety gage around the drive wheels and blade. The momentum you will get with the wheels should make you think about a brake system for emergencies. As always I enjoy your videos. You do a great job filming and editing. So glad to see Sandra getting around so well. Stay safe, can't wait for the next video!

I'd advise using the donut type spare tires instead of regular tires. The donuts run at 90 psi or better and thus you can put more tension on the blade and control it easier.

I like the rail system idea. I guess you're basically building what we'd call around here a lumber mill. Any guestimates on the max lumber size you can mill with that engine you've got (I forget if you've already mentioned it)? Nice project, Tim. I can't wait to see how it works!
