Although much of this video shows extra details of the Axminster BS11-INV bandsaw, the bandsaw table extension shown near the end will be of interest to every bandsaw owner. I also cover making 150 mm wide veneers, scroll cutting and dust extraction.

Another good video Peter, keep 'em coming! I wondered what blade you used for cutting the veneer - widest possible with fewest teeth? I presume you are using Axminster blades, but if not what? Can the bandsaw properly tension the widest blade it is specified to handle - I believe many struggle? Tensioning bandsaw blades is something I find very tricky (my machine has a tension guide on it but it can't be relied on), a little more detail from you on that topic would be much appreciated I am sure. Hi Terry, For veneers you will be cutting quite wide pieces so fewer teeth per inch is better and a slower speed as you have to be able to clear the sawdust from the cut. High tension is essential and the BS11 gives that. Peter

Hi PETER Great video, what I’d like to ask is, is this saw capable resawing 150mm oak? The piece you cut how long did it take?

Hi Stephen, The maximum cutting height is 160 mm and so that part is fine. I have cut a lot of oak and with the right blade your 150 mm will be no problem at all. That piece of 150 mm wood that I cut took probably about 50 seconds to cut. I would expect the timing for oak to be the same. Please do not hesitate to ask further questions. Peter

Hi Peter, Is that the festool 50mm hose?

No, it is a short length of 36 mm hose. I had bought a 5 m long one a long time ago and use a short lenth for my Kapex, a slightly longer piece for the bandsaw and oscillating sander and then the remaining large piece goes overhead to my tracksaw cutting station. Peter
