Got this with the carbon fiber shaft myself with the 2.5 battery, wish it had the bigger battery though, but mines an absolute beast ,it rips through grass like a charm.

Just bought the same but carbon fiber from Lowe’s for $250 but with protections plan it was over $300. But just a great quality.

Looks nice but the cutting end looks bulkier and heavier than my trusty 2nd gen model. The 2nd gen model has good balance and I've had it for years without issue. Maybe I'll check out a floor model next time I go to the store.

@@Kitearmy No I have the 2nd gen trimmer when they added the speed feed head. Slide the string through and a few quick twists to load. I still have the very 1st original model with the big guard on it. I use it once in a blue moon.

Use the .95 size as the power is too much from the tool. U might be using a smaller type of string.

Never had a issue with my electric stuff for 6 year's + tired their first products to Kobalt is a great brand as well. They sell out in stores for a reason wake up gas is a waste of money down the line.

No battery powered equipment comes close to petrol powered!! If you have a small garden, they will ok. Otherwise, petrol all day long, literally!

Wow really? I have the ego power load (the first one that dropped that I paid about $270 and it is one of the best investments I’ve ever made for lawn care. The battery lasts and power through my edging and trimming and I love the power load it’s as easy as he shows on there, so much more efficient than the time I took with my old trimmer. I’ve had it for 3+ years now and it’s still just as powerful as it was on the first day, plus it’s very quiet compared to a gas one I love it! (Disclaimer not paid for this comment)

U know they have a warranty. I would exchange it for another and extend that warranty again if possible. Thats alot of money for the EGO, buy Im thinking of buying one.@@OliverDiGeronimo009

I’ve been using their basic trimmer for 3 years. The battery that came with it stopped taking a charge after one season, but I called their customer service and they sent me a brand new battery no questions asked at no charge. That was 2 years ago and it’s still working fine. I’ve since learned that the batteries need to be charged and not left on the charger, and also kept inside where it stays in a climate controlled environment. Any battery will degrade super fast if you allow it to sit on a charger and stay in an environment where temperatures fluctuate wildly. I think people make this mistake quite a lot without realizing the damage it’s doing, myself included at first.
