That is timely for me because I’m now thinking of maybe buying a pair of 28s in a few months if my financial situation is as I hope it will be. I won’t be connecting them to a TV as I don’t have one. Initially I will use them with AirPlay 2 from my iPad playing from Apple Music and Vox Player. It is possible that at a later time I will set up a Roon network and connect the 28s to a Roon endpoint. I actually have all the Cat 6a network cable in place for that but I still have a bit more work to do with that.

@@soundsheavenly - Thank you for your response. I understand that the network cables would be no good for an audio signal. B & O do use RJ45 connectors for regular audio cables, which I think is a bit weird actually, however, as you say regular audio cables must be used.

Hi Steve .... Why dont we have Connectors that spilt one RJ45 connector to 2 RJ45 connectors. All I see are connectors that spilt 1 RJ45 connector to TWO Din connectors. And then you are expected to use 2 cables that have Din on one end and RJ45 at the other. What is point of going to RJ45 to Din then back to RJ45. Why not just split 1 RJ45 to 2 RJ45s and be done with it.??
@soundsheavenly
@soundsheavenly Жыл бұрын
Hi, good question! RJ45 to twin RJ45 splitters do exist, but they aren't correctly wired or shielded for Beolab speakers, meaning they give poor results. The design of this splitter means that I can't be made by smaller factories, so changing the unsuitable wiring would need a massive order of many tens of thousands of items, which I can't stretch to!

Hi, many optical devices provide a constant output, even when nothing is playing. This causes the speaker to ignore the optical input, so the speaker will always need to be manually switched to optical via the app in this case

@@soundsheavenly okay it looks like the actual core has a built in sync settings that you can disable and adjust, i think these may solve that particular issue. ultimately I've had to give up on using the core to connect my speakers to my Sony OLED. So the issues I have run into are , I cant control the volume with the TV remote when using the core and Beolabs, you have to use the B & O app. This is annoying for many reasons i dont think i need to explain. I cant have my sound-bar plugged in at the same time as turning the TV on triggers both the sound bar and the core to activate. Of corse they are out of sync with each other, so then you have to go through the tv menus to turn one off. If the Beolabs where not activated this would have enable me to continue to use the TV normally and then use the Beolabs 28's only when i wanted to watch a film which would have potentially solved the issue of not being able to use the tv remote to control the TV volume. I cant find any way to stop the Core and Beolabs being triggered to come on when the TV is switched on. I want to have my Beolabs on to play music when i want to and the plus are all hidden behind a large cupboard anyway. When I had them connected last night the sound was amazing way way better than my sound-bar. So Unless anyone has any suggestions I need to send the Core back and look for another solution.

Ive just bought a pair of 28s and because the shop owner has been away I’ve managed with the delay in sound. Question. Why should we have to pay extra on top of £11000 to get the sound to sync! Although Beolab 28 has an optical input, this cannot be used to connect to a TV (as explained in this video). This is why the Core is useful, as it allows for a low-latency optical input to give a connection from a non-B&O TV to the speakers, which can't be done directly.
