I have these exact Beolab towers with the same issues. One Board's tracers are corroded from rotten insulation foam...so i put them in storage 3 years ago to wait until there were more tutorials, and today i find this outstanding tutorial, so time to get them out of storage for repair!! thanks alot!

Congratulations! This is indeed an excellent tutorial! I whish I had seen this tutorial before I had cleaned my 6 units of Beolab 8000 loudspeakers. I hope that the new foam material does not degrade as the origiginal material did. I had only installed one set, since this was the only one I could order. Instead of a brush and liquid alcohol, I had used Isopropyl cleaning spray "IPA", "WL" and "61" (all from German supplier "Kontakt Chemie") and thereafter compressed air to clean the amplifyer and Power-supply board. This made the cleaning process of the electronics much easier. However you have to make sure not to blow the degraded foam all over the place! With one of the 6 loudspeakers, I´m facing a problem, that is most probably related to the black relais on the Power -Supply board. When the Beolab 8000 is connected to my Ouverture 2631 and i.e. a CD is played, the LED at the Beolab 8000 changes from RED to Green (as usual), however there is no sound fgrom the Beolab 8000. If then the 230 V power supply-cable at the Beolab 8000 is disconnected and then connected again, the function of the loudspeaker is normal. I guess that relais has a bad tontact and needs to be replaced. What do you think?

Thanks for the tutorial! I would like to point out that you should also remove the old foam tape that seals the case to the front. I got a roll from my local B&O.

Great Tutorial. Do you have any advice on an issue I'm having where one of my speakers is no longer playing sound and stuck in 'red light' mode? I debugged enough to confirm it's not the wiring since the same cable works fine on my other speaker. Tried toggling between R/L/Line and nothing changes. I can't fully tell from other forums but it seems like it may be an amplifier issue, hence I'm debating opening this thing up.

Awesome video! I have a pair of 8002’s and was wondering if they would have similar foam issues. I have heard that some of the newer Beolab 8000’s have the new white foam so wasn’t sure if I should look at replacing the foam in the 8002’s as a preventative measure.

I have a problem with my amplifier board. I could not see it in your store. Is it still available?
