Goof Off is great for dissolving the old surround residue!

Hi, i used the rubbing alcohol. Soak the old glue for 5-10 minutes and it will come right off. pretty neat for 99 cents.

How did you remove the driver from the speaker box assembly first? I have the exact same issue with my CX-100's and I want to refoam them, but the driver appears to be connected to the + and - wires via solder, not some plug. Did you just cut the wires, then re-solder them back? Thanks!

Sorry for the slow reply. Did not cut the wire, just unsoldered them. Remember to write down the colors of the wires + the magnets are pretty strong. For the speakers, i have used them every day since the repair and they just work as when they were brand new.

I found the foam on ebay glue from Michaels.

Do you know where I can get an aftermarket cone (membrane) for CX100?

It was a while ago but i purchased the cones from good_hifi on ebay. They are located in the Netherlands but the shipment to the west coast where im located was quick.
