The fastest express train from Bangalore to Hubli is presently the 07353 KSR Bengaluru Hubballi Special, sharing a 7-hour run time with the 12079 Bengaluru Hubballi Jan shatabdi Express. However, owing to a delayed departure and a cracker of a run throughout, the train managed to complete the journey(well, almost) in under 6 hours!!! This might be a precursor to the Vande Bharat trainset that is supposed to run on this section later this year.
07353 departs from KSR Bengaluru railway station at 7:30 to reach Hubballi at 14:30. However, the train departed only past 8:00 and reached Hubballi outers by 14:00, where it was held up for quite a while. The train was powered by a WDG4 diesel restricted to 105kmph.
