One of the things to know about being a teen or young adult in the 90s - the live music scene. Because 90s grunge and rock went back to more traditional instruments, a lot of these songs could be played easily by even a three-piece rock band. There would be chains of bars up and down the streets with live bands at all of them who were playing these songs almost perfectly. It was definitely an unforgettable vibe :)

7 Mary 3 - fun story on the band’s name. Back in the day, there was a police show called CHiPs - which followed two California Highway Patrol officers. Jon Baker (played by Larry Wilcox) was “7 Mary 3” over the police radio. Ponch (Erik Estrada, a heartthrob at the time) was 7 Mary 4.

A couple of other mid-late 90s suggestions that you will probably love - "Possum Kingdom" by the Toadies and "Got You Where I Want You" by the Flys. I can see you two rocking out to both of them. And you've got to get back to Nirvana at some point! Y'all have barely scratched the surface with them. (Edit to add: "Super Bon Bon" by Soul Coughing. That bassline and chorus will be stuck in your heads for days.)

WOW! Thanks guys for playing this song. it's from the album American Standard and it became my go to album for through some rough times in my life. It resonated a lot with some of my own struggles at the times. I strongly suggest that you give the album a full listen. It's a hidden gem of the 90's.

Great song! And if you need more 90s bangers, PLEASE check out an often overlooked band, one of my faves, OUR LADY PEACE. Superman's Dead is awesome, as is Automatic Flowers. Be aware that the lead singer has an unusual voice but with and open mind, hopefully you will love them too. I've been hoping to get your reaction for a long time and I'll keep mentioning it. Such an underrated band. My favorite song by them is called Lucky (Do this one next!😊) or even Waters Edge. And if you liked this you need to try Sister Hazrel, Toad the Wet sprocket, Silverchair, O.A.R. Tonic or The Toadies. So many great 90s bands.

Love this band. Still one I listen to today. I used to play their first album on repeat. Water's Edge, Rodrigo, My My, and Punch In Punch Out were all high up on my playlist with Cumbersome, too. Punch In Punch Out is very different as it's just singing and drums.
