Bangkok has changed, and old areas are quickly gentrifying. The best back alley experience is Bangrak and Talad Noi, and it's a half day walk you need to try.
This is my favorite area in all of Bangkok to go for a walk and enjoy the old buildings, new coffee shops, street food, and riverside shopping mall. Use this video as a guide to show you where to go, because you need to visit this area and see the change for yourself.

Yet another banger! great hood... a few key spots I could show you there... ;-) But glad you got some of the killer street food. The cafe is a cool spot, been over a bunch. very hip design and pretty ok coffee as well.

There were more than a few on this list where I wish Chris had more of You, Jib and GTM to add more depth. Chris is has the best channel in Thailand and is friends with the next two best channels so he should have used and abused you guys more for this list 😜

Talot Not alleys are amazing. Definitely worth a visit or a few. If you're up there, look for a spot named Mother Roaster...

I stayed in bang rak and didn't even see those places, there are so many things to see in bangkok, you need to live there to see it all but this list really helps! The editing on your vids are one of the best I've seen

Awakening Bangkok 2021/2022 took the same route through this area, it was awesome. (The light/art display event). I just found out it's in December this year as well, definitely worth checking it out! 🏮

wow this place looks really great. i mean its obviously gentrified but like i love the renewal of old spaces yet keeping them looking a bit old still. kind of like Japanese Wabi-Sabi feeling. I just hope that this is being led by local voices and wishes and not outside ones. beautiful place, thanks for introducing it !

My wife and I just did a little staycation in that area. Very cool. Charoen Krung Road that is the main road through the area is the first road to be constructed in Thailand using modern road construction techniques in the 1860’s.

There are thousands of KZfaqrs making videos in Bangkok and Thailand....but Chris is the best one by far! (I just missed a little explanation of the meaning of Bangrak and why is not so easy to find a free day to get married in Bangrak as I did with my Thai wife). Oh my goodness! Thank you!!!!! I’ve been searching for this neighborhood for years / and you helped me finally pinpoint it! Wandered these alleys 25 years ago and it was as cool and funky back then - nice to see it get some TLC but keep the original character - fond memories of dodging motorcycle parts on the way to the guesthouse - but those were pre internet / Google maps days, so I thought I may never find it again - awesome videos bud!

As always, we wait for your latest production. The area you covered today is a true gem, full of locality and humble history. In the morning, some farangs take a bike tour. I came across the little market last August on my morning stroll from Royal Orchid Hotel. Back then I was wishing someone would make a KZfaq video. Today, you presented so well. Thanks Chris. Super excited! I can’t believe Talat Noi made top 5 ! It should it’s a great little almost unknown area! The restaurant by the blue Family sign with the Rino on it has the best duck on rice in Bangkok! Duck place! 🎉❤🦆🇹🇭🌶

The 4 pieces 20 baht crepe is, I reckon, is Khanom Tokyo. I don't know why it is called that way. I ate this khanom for decades when I was younger. The 2nd hand auto part shops in this area is called "Ziang Kong", the original whose history is more than 50 years. Now newer auto part shops such as in Laksi also called "Ziang Kong" but with modifier "Ziang Kong Laksi". The same thing applies to "Talat Rong Klua" selling used clothes and cheap goods at the Thai Cambodian border at Sa Kaew province opposite border cansino in Cambodia. If you want to gamble at Cambodian border, you can board the van at Victory Monument circle for free. Now you don't even need to travel to the border to buy 2nd hand clothes. There is "Talat Rong Klua" at Bangkok outskirt.

I've stayed at the Royal Orchard Sheraton a few times, so have wandered around this neighbourhood. Definitely missed a lot of spots, so thanks! On another note, really disappointed with my fellow Canadians that we didn't even medal in the viewing stats. I thought for sure we'd win Silver.

Little alley is and always is exciting around Bangkok, in the same way elsewhere in Thailand, but Bangkok is big and special. Have been on a little trip around here back in 2013, since I have photography and video as a small hobby, there is a lot, a lot that you can take pictures of inside such small alleys, like this place with the old rusty Fiat and this wall, must try to find this place for the next Thailand trip in 2023 :)

This is a great local neighborhood to walk through. A riverside coffee or beer is a must at Hong Sieng Kong. If you have more energy, you can keep walking up to Chinatown for dinner and drinks!

The car owner name is Mr.Sak. he just wouldn't sell it but rather leave it there for people to come and take picture. This place start off as Chinese community and they are Black Smith expert about steel. As time pass their skill develop them into expert in separated auto part and clean it for resell as a 2nd hand auto part.
