@@BreeandEthan If you are planning to visit Wat Arun/Grand Palace. The best spot to view Wat Arun is actually across the river. There are a cluster of riverside restaurants that are slightly upscale with an amazing view to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset behind the temple. Right next door to the Grand Palace is Museum Siam, and it's so underrated. I highly recommend making time for it. Personally if you have limited time, I'd go as far as saying you should skip both Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, and checkout this museum instead. Chinatown has busy day and less busy. Even if you don't like the crowd, it is worth roughing it out on a busier days as you get to enjoy better street foods. The restaurants are great if you are ready to commit, but unless you have a big enough group, I can't recommend it as you won't be able to sample as many different dishes. You'll enjoy food from food carts a lot more. Khao San Road is another popular attraction. I wouldn't buy anything things from there (even as a Thai person, though not very local as I've been living in Canada). However, you'll find a lot of fun, unique, though not traditional, food to enjoy. The area is called "Banglamphu" and should be relatively accessible from the Aira hotel through skytrain. Lastly, cafe hopping is very very trendy with the younger Thais so you'll find many great contemporary cafes with drinks and pastries that are highly Instagram-able. If you ever need a shelter from the heat, instead of going back to the hotel or to the malls, please consider these small cafe businesses. They don't often impose strict time limit at the table, and the cost of two drinks and a pastry to share could be worth the cost of transportation going somewhere you weren't intending to just to get out of the heat.

Burger King and MacDonalds?? ...you're in Thailand, one of the worlds best cuisines! Speaking from experience, I have had more dodgy tummies eating in some of the more 'sanitized restaurants' than eating in a popular street food or market stall (tip. eat where the locals eat, they know good food). That aside, I hope you enjoy your travels, and although I have no idea what your criteria is, there are so many wonderful places to explore, May I suggest Sam Roi Yot (near Hua Hin) and Prachuap Khiri Khan, or Sukhothai ancient city, heading north towards Chiang Mai, or some of the beautiful islands further south and get out of those shopping malls. Happy trails to you.

Yes I know, there is tons of amazing food in Thailand, but for us it was about the experience! We were there for 45 days so it was a good way to slowly ease into the local food! Thank you very much for watching! We will definitely look into the suggestions you gave! ☺️

if you are still in Thailand, heading to the beach in the south (Thai gulf or Andaman Sea) it seems to be a better choice. if you are still here until rainy season (late July onward) I strongly recommend traveling to northern part of Thailand, I really love Chiang Mai and been live here for more than 15 years. Smoking season and tons of PM2.5 is make me want to move....
