Thanks John, nice to have a larger screen option on the Contour and the new updated panel for 2021, it makes a good entry to the Beovision range. Pleased to see that you also buy B&O for your own home!

Thanks, John, for making me dream again ! What I like in Contour is the Beovision 11-14 look, and the fact it can be upgraded with newest panels 2 weeks ago, I received my Eclipse gen 2 65 "" (combined with my Beolab 18 and 8000). Without any surprise, it is currently my favourite TV. I find Harmony too bulky, and this is incredibly nice in smoked oak release. Glad to have waited for LG G1 Evo, tremendous panel. I would appreciate to have smaller sizes like 43" and even 32" for bedrooms, put in a furniture, etc. Have a nice summer. Cheers to my british friends (Hope you forgive me that I am a Chelsea supporter :-) ) Jean-François from Brussels

Thanks Lewis, it's good that you think that but in reality I'll make a few quick notes as to not miss any details and plan the general structure. I make a lot of it up after I press record. Sorry if I spoiled the illusion :-) John

I just got myself a 55" CX with a BeoLab 7-1 underneath and BeoLab 3s on the front. Would consider going for a Contour if external 5.1 was supported, but I like the ability to upgrade speakers through the years. Would the BeoSound Stage be considered an upgrade in your opinion?
@WiRe073 жыл бұрын
In january i wished the contour was in 55 inch, but it was not released so i bought the 48 inch. Now 5 months later there it is, too bad of B&O that they didn't launch it at the same time. Then also its very disappointing that the Contour can't connect with external speakers to get a better 3.1 or 5,1 sound. For B&O as a premium sound brand, it's a shame. There was told that there will be a kind of connector too make it possible to connect beolab 18 speakers on short notice. I really wish i can connect my Beolab's Is that true John? But even though i like your reviews!! Keep on going!

Hi John, thanks for your videos. There aren't many B&O reviews on KZfaq so you rock :-) Question. Does the Contour run Apple TV natively? Still find it cumbersome how I am using it today on my 2020 Eclipse. Also since there has not been and will be a software update for the Eclipse I understood. Thanks

Hi John, if you have a 2020 model OLED, can you do a firmware update to get the new 2021 menu interfaces?

My older panels updated recently and didn't change the menus so I very doubt it Andy. John

Thanks for all the great videos you make. Will the Stage sound better with a LG TV? I have it on a kinda old Samsung TV right now and I love the sound, but I don´t experience that ATMOS sound. I have an Apple TV 4k connected directly to the Stage and I get the ATMOS logo in the APP. So I guess changing the TV woulndt really help with sound, would it? Any other ideas how to improve this?
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
You will be getting Atmos from Apple TV on supported content if you have it connected to the Stage directly via HDMI. I used to have a Samsung before my LG, the LG was an improvement as it also has Atmos support and eARC.
@Atran113 жыл бұрын
@@BangOlufsenManchester thanks for the quick answer. I get ATMOS input to the Stage as I get the ATMOS logo in the B&O App when I check the input signal. But the sound still is more like stereo and not really ATMOS. I know it’s just simulated and won’t be as a full setup. But was expecting a bit more. The sound is awesome, just the ATMOS feeling is missing. May I ask what settings you made for movies (regarding Upmix, virtualisation etc)?
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
@@Atran11 There are a few factors that change the experience. How big the room is, the height of the Beosound Stage, facing forwards or facing up, where you sit etc. The surround is best in my experience in a smaller to mid size room when sitting a little closer to it. You also have to be sat right in the centre for the best results. If the sound bar is facing upwards I found the height effects amplified by the ceiling but the surround effect of having side speakers and speech are better with it facing forwards. You could try and experiment with your seating position or sound bar position and see what sounds best for you.

@@BangOlufsenManchester Thanks a million. Will play a bit around with settings. =) Have a fairly small living room and the Stage is in "wall mount mode" on the STB Bracket stand on my lowboard.

Hi John. Just a quick question regarding the new Contour 55 and the 2020 Contour 48, ? How easy is it to upgrade the software from CX to C1 as mentioned in your video. Also if ordering a 2021 48 will this come with updated software installed. I have the 55 Eclipse and I am thinking about the contour 48 for my lounge and the eclipse in my conservatory?? Les
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
Hi Les, the CX and C1 are both entirely different TVs, it's not just software. You can't upgrade a CX, you swap out the screen entirely to a new C1 screen. If you order a Contour 48 or 55 now it will come with the latest C1 screen from 2021. If you need any help email me at jw.kingstreet@bang-olufsen.co.uk

Hi Thanks for another Good video ! Could you do a video of the contour and WISA sound send - then it should be possible to do surround sound ? Br Mads
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mads, no that won't work. The TV will either output WiSA or HDMI eARC, not both together so the Stage would never work as a centre speaker.

Hi John great video as always. How difficult is it to change the panel in a 2020 48” contour? It it just a few screws or is it more advanced? I will not upgrade the panel this year but hopefully in a few years the newest LG panel can be inserted into the case 🤞
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, 2 people make it easier. Lots of screws, a bit of prior knowledge and some setup. I would recommend you get your local store to supply thier install engineers for half a day. Unless you've had the training and done it before it can be tricky and there is potential for damage if done incorrectly. John.
@calumjones6 ай бұрын
I don't get it, wouldn't this TV be inferior to top end Sony and LG? Can't you just put a Beosound Stage under one of those superior TVs? I just don't understand this.

Is there a difference in audio performance between the Stage and the Eclipse with no extra speakers?
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are quite different. Stand alone you could argue Stage has a better sound than Eclipse. Eclipse has more features, nicer stands and the ability to add more speakers. Once you add more speakers the Eclipse speaker becomes an excellent centre channel that has no problem complimenting the likes of Beolab 28, 50 and 90. Once you add extra speakers the Eclipse will easily outperform Stage.

@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
Beovision 7 is a classic but you can't swap the panel. Plus the Beosystem 3 will not pass 4K, HDR or Dolby Vision to the screen. Embrace the Beovision Eclipse L R......you'll never look back.

A TV that needs to be calibrated when you take it out of the box can in my world not be called a Beovision.
@BangOlufsenManchester3 жыл бұрын
I disagree but each to their own. Getting LG's OLED tech was the best thing to happen to Beovision in my opinion. Although I do miss the electronic curtains on the old TV's. John
@nickvogelius3 жыл бұрын
@@BangOlufsenManchester Sony makes just as good OLED based televisions if not better, with the precise same panels from LG. B&O, on the other hand, has got themself stuck to an agreement where they have noting to do with the the TV part itself. The electric curtains are nothing compared to all the patents they have created over the years alone to enhance the image of their flat screen televisions. The whole Visionclear engine is missing, all the work they had specialized themself in, everything from blur and judder application in low contrast versus high contrast elements of an image to their lights sensor that not only adapted the lighting from the back panel itself but also gave you the correct gamma(2.4 for dark viewing to 1.8 In daylight) depending on the lighting in the room. The OLED versus zone-controlled LCD television debated do btw also depends on the lighting in the room they are going to be used In.

I love B&O design language but it looks like their TVs are way behind technologically, you'd expect them to have the brightest OLED out there to go with the gorgeous design, a 3.000 nit QD OLED / MLA / heatsink monster that is expensive, but blows Samsung and LG out of the water or at least offers the best that TV tech has to offer these days, but this looks more like 2017 tech, in a beautiful wrapping, but still dated tech, what gives?
@BangOlufsenManchester Жыл бұрын
well I cant agree with the 2017 tech idea as we use the latest oled models from Lg in our Tv combinations, but I have never seen the "3.000 nit QD OLED / MLA / heatsink monster " you refer to so will take a look at what we are missing.
@toobalkain Жыл бұрын
@@BangOlufsenManchester that a fact? The latest model I see on B&O's website is from 2021, ancient history, not even sure LG had passthrough Atmos HDMI back then.
