Mom says 14yr old who was riding a bike without a helmet "she's always so sensible". Nope, then she would have had her helmet on because she could list all the possible injuries from the idiocy of it.

Eh, that's rather judgmental. My 15 year old son is extremely sensible and driven and responsible. He plays football, runs track, is a 3rd degree brown belt in karate, practices jiu jitsu and MMA, goes to the gym 2 hours a day. He is high honor roll every quarter and national honor society and has already been sought out by colleges. He is part of the world language association for Spanish as a second language. He knows exactly what he wants to do career wise. We don't push him to do any of this on the contrary I often tell him to slow down and take a break. However, none of his friends wear helmets when riding a bike and if i didnt push it, he wouldnt. At this age, even a sensible child needs parental guidance and still makes poor choices at times- it's part of growing up.

She started giggling because her boyfriend was laughing about the exchange. All she heard was “nut”. Believe what you want, but “nut” has been slang for “head” since my mother was a young girl even (50’s). 🤷‍♀️

My question with the 14yr old bike injury. If it’s her neck that is injured why didn’t they take her for scans before moving her? I love watching this show and that’s what they have shown in the past is scans first then palpate. So wondered if they just show things out of order or they decided to do it differently this time for different reasons.

Bike accidents absolutely suck, but speaking from experience I’m glad she sought out medical care, even though I’ve never been able to ride my bike without a helmet and I totally credit all of mine with saving me from serious injuries on multiple occasions (new helmet after every accident), I foolishly never sought out medical care for any of mine and I totally regret it now, even though I was between insurances when one of them happened and was afraid of medical debt, better safe than sorry. (US citizen)

I had an abscess too in my mouth after they have taken my two wisdom tooth. It was the highest pain I've ever felt, that pain when I wanted to die. My mom helped me to go to the hospital, where the doctor said he doesn't see anything wrong LOL. But I barely couldn't walk because of the pain, so we needed to go an oral surgery hospital which was an another half an hour with public transport... They did a CT scan and they said, if I had waited a few hours more, it would goes down to my neck an needed a bigger operation. They gave me strong medicines, and the next morning they operated me. That was the second nightmare. I got anesthetic medicine but it didn't work, so I felt everything with a hugely inflammation there. After the surgery, the doctor came to me and said: I've never saw anybody who could stand this surgery as well as you. He didn't lie, I saw that on his face. After, I spent another 4 day in the hospital. Thanks to the hospital team for curing me.

We don't go to the ER for a bad tooth abscesses are treated by dentists, sometimes doctors prescribe antibiotics so that the infection is controlled.

you can also die from an abscess, his was already spreading to his chest, then go into his bloodstream and heart

His abscess had created a specific type of issue/infection. Quite serious - the hospital was the right place for him. He didn't have any pain with that tooth so the infection got really bad.

That you might not be able to feel it when something touches your hand or aren't able to feel pain for example. It might be numb or a stinging/tingling sensation. So anything apart from the normal sensation.
