Now two weeks into her journey down the Nile, Joanna Lumley leaves Egypt behind her, crossing Lake Nasser by ferry and entering Sudan. During the 18 hour journey she has to deal with crowding and less than sanitary conditions but agreeable travel companions. She gets to view the great statues at Abu Simbel as they pass by. They then travel by car to Wawa where they boat down a stretch of Nile in search of giant crocodiles that can grow up to 20 feet long. A further trip by car takes them to a holy mountain and then go deep underground to visit the tomb of a Queen who lived circa 650 B.C.
Welcome to the History Channel, the home of gripping and powerful documentaries. Here you can watch both full length documentaries and series that explore some of the most comprehensive pieces of world history.

Dear Joanna, I admire your courage and wonderful attitude towards everything, that you do, with feeling and enthusiasm! This lake "Nasser", has a surface-area of 5,250 square kilometres, as opposed to the other artificial lake, Lake Volta, in Ghana, which covers an area of 8,502 square kilometres. It was, for the people of Ghana, just as big a sacrifice, to lose even more land, at the time, but now, they are exporting electricity to many other African countries! . I lived in the UK for47 years, but returned to Germany, because of the deteriorating work-situation and the poorer getting manners, esp. lack of respect for pensioners like me!

She took the troubles to learn the names of people attending to her and the locals words for items and things. She even offer Salam to the locals and a smatterings of shukrans ( thanks) here and there Am her fan now.

These people are the most beautiful people i have ever seen seriously. They are very civilized when it comes to their behavior they are true welcoming and warm hearted africans. Notice how they held her hand up and down the mountains. I have never seen this behavior towards melenated people from caucasians. They accepted her no matter her skin!! They have survived in this region since forever with this harsh climate. They dont need any sunscreen! This makes me think people are extremely jealous and envy melenated people and they have very diverse beautiful features.

You have a strong sense of justice...The West has always pretended and acted like the Pyramids in Sudan don’t exist...They very well know that by acknowledging the existence of Nubian pyramids, then it becomes apparent who built the Egyptian pyramids; Black Africans.

Egyptians are considered black in Europe. Nubians are just blacker than Egyptians. Even the Egyptians painted themselves as darker than Europeans and lighter than Nubians. The mummies show that they have a mixture of dna but caucasian appears to be fairly common with sub saharan admixture increasing as the years went by.

There were no borders back then, which makes Egypt & Sudan one big land eventually belongs to africans.

@@emansatti7694 there must have been borders between kingdoms back then. There where wars and disputes over territory, so I would assume they would have known their borders.

Amos 9:7 BBE Are you not as the children of the Ethiopians to me, O children of Israel? says the Lord. Have I not taken Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Aramaeans from Kir?
