I was a little concerned with the doctor helping Jess at first I didn't think he had gloves on and I was concerned about infection and such until I went back and paused it , then I saw by his thumb and at his wrist he did have gloves on lol These guys deserve all the respect they get and then some more !! Great job and keep saving those lives

Most of the paramedics on medevac helicopters put on gloves just as the aircraft is landing or while getting from the aircraft to the patient to save time and enable them to immediately start treating patients. This saves time in critical situations where seconds can be the difference between life and death. Even in a ground ambulance I would put on my gloves in the final minute pulling up to the scene so that I could start treating my patients with the least possible delay to their care. I learned very early in my career that the extra time that it took to pull on gloves at the scene could have catastrophic consequences for my patients and so I put on gloves while in transit to the scene so that I was ready to treat the injured with no delay. Most EMT/Paramedics have the same habit to speed up patient care.

Its not that paramedics U.S. are not good, but there so much more doctors on scene can do. That why there Air Ambulance service is fantastic.

I have had paramedics save me several times now. I feel guilty, like I didn't deserve all the work they did, but at the same time, I won't insult them by doing something on purpose that is stupid. Most recently, I had a severe allergic reaction. They were super, and I wish I could do something super for them! I'm in USA, not Britain, so there are a LOT of differences, but this show just underlines how little we give credit to those who save people daily, even hourly...

I love the emphasis all of these doctors and paramedics place on emotional care of their patients. I’m not sure if it’s indicative of the English culture of politeness or if the culture developed organically but the way that they always make every effort to comfort patients of all ages AND their families is quite nice. It’s just refreshing to come home from a day of frustrating customer service in a world of war and hate and see genuine human compassion and unity. Gives me a small bit of hope in a mostly dark world

So much respect for EMTs and paramedics. They’ve saved my life multiple times and have helped me in some of the worst moments. I have chronic illnesses that can get very serious, and it’s hard not to be anxious about it, but when I remember that there’s paramedics who will do whatever it takes to help, I feel very reassured. Thank you guys for all you do

It amazes me, somehow, that the people in the pub, being the ones that presumably called about the paraglider, didn't actually get it into their heads to call again when he walked in and say, "Oh, sorry, false alarm, he's right here."

A good GP with lots of emergency training is worth their weight in plutonium. I speak from the viewpoint of a patient with lymphedema based cellulitis in an office full of very young girls who were GPs in training. They had never seen lymphedema or cellulitis. They all had their text books out, turned to a little paragraph on lymphedema and cellulitis. They were looking in horror at the devastation that was my leg and foot. The wound care nurse worried that I might lose toes. I told them that if they had questions, please ask. I couldn't wait to tell new GPs what lymphedema is, and the misery it causes. Lord knows they would never learn in school. Lymphedema, a terrible illness hitting millions of people, is bearly acknowledged in med school.

After watching most of these episodes (as a person that happens to take multi medications with a few other issues) I am now looking into getting a 🏥Medical Bracelet (they also have necklaces and keychains🏩 now as well😊. I didn't know)... I think it would be a grand idea as seeing sooo many people that are in "unable to talk situations" or the docs puttin people in sleepmode to save their life. That medical info is so deadly important to know, really life or death. Quite scary actually if you think about it. Something to think about for you peeps out there that have ailments that are affecting your life too

4:34 8:36 Why are all these people laughing at this poor family's accident? Did anyone else notice this bizarre behaviour?
@Eva-ww8kx
@Eva-ww8kx 3 жыл бұрын
They are not laughing at the accident. The first one they probably can't believe the car went flying over and it's more surprise than enjoyment. Second the guy seems to say something to the other one, looks like "ah good job", because they already fixed some of the poor lady's injuries on the way in. As strange as it is to us, this is these people's job. The accidents have already happened, and they can only do their best to help these people make it out alive/as well as possible. They will not panic or cry because they have been on their way to the accident knowing it has happened and they have work to do. On such long workdays, it's possible that the camera catches a smile or a chuckle between the lifesaving.

This is normal and almost necessary for the job. If they allow themselves to become upset they can’t do their jobs. The light humor is a way of diffusing the counterproductive emotions which are natural in this situation.

There are variations in liver enzymes, and people of Asian descent's bodies may also respond differently. Co-Tylenol works for me. Oxycodone/Percocet does not, per my last three post-surgery prescriptions.
@seinfeld11123
@seinfeld11123 2 ай бұрын
@@a.w.thompson4001 i agree some people are poor metabolisers of one or the other. the fact that oxycodone doesn't work for you but codeine does. means you convert the codeine more efficiently than a lot of people (can be actually dangerous even if you take a "standard dose" . Asian people have a gene mutation called ALDH2 which protects them from heavy drinking, and its also thought it does the same thing to opiates in their liver as well. the reason for this is because naltrexone/naloxone blocks the alcohol derived pathways just the same in the brain. its interesting. I myself am a poor metabolizer of oxycodone as well. and I convert codeine at a marge larger rate to the point I get serious side effects of a small dose
