Pretty standard stuff here to be honest. There's good and bad to be seen in this run but at the end of the day I got my goal time so I won't complain.

What I like/find unique about this game is how it ties the various worlds together so that you can use new abilities in old places and so on. Like the train stations, or that you can take the Stony from level 1 into hailfire peaks, which also connects to grunty industries and terrydactyl-land. It makes the pattern that much less linear and makes you keep using everything you've learned all along.
@shantakidd6230

That was one of my favorite things about this game, but also one of the most frustrating. Because the worlds are very expansive and interconnected, some of the quests are so convoluted that I never even got close to finishing them as a kid. Even now as an adult I have to write it down or I'll forget what step comes next. Like getting the Jiggy from the pig kids in Jolly Rogers Lagoon. You have to go to 4 different stages and complete objectives in order to get that Jiggy. But when I really get into it I can sit there and beat the game 100% in about a week of casual play
@DiboHugo23
@DiboHugo23 Жыл бұрын
@@shantakidd6230 this jiggy is extremly easy, when you are in world 8 you push the iceblock anyway, than you acutally see "oh world 7, banjo buton under water" of course you go there later and thats all, because get the water clean is only 1-2 minutes when you first enter world 4 an extremly easy.

I've noticed people tend to talk about this game with a grain of disappointment (not you), and I just can't figure out HOW this game would disappoint you. The most I've seen to a complaint is that the first game was more linear, and this one has intricate connected paths. Like WHAT?? THAT'S your big problem?? What about starting with ALL of the moves from the 1st game and then adding like twenty NEW ones? Samus from Metroid can't even hold a candle to that, imagine KEEPING all your upgrades into the next game...
@jonsmith5058
@jonsmith5058 Жыл бұрын
@@Atylonisus some choices, I dunno. Like notes being something you can no longer lose, and the backtracking, some of the jiggies were too tedious or convoluted and the worlds simply too big, like Terydactyland. The original being more compact made it more satisfying to complete a level and more tense to not die and lose your notes. The new game design and non-linear progress forced the need for notes to be persistent. I’d argue the characters were more memorable in the first also. I can name many more of them from BK compared to BT. Plus the story is better.

I think Banjo-Tooie is better than Banjo-Kazooie, and yet it's only ever the first game that everyone talks about. Why does no one care about the sequel? It improved on so many things, gave new abilities that quicken the pace of the game, fixed that stupid quiz at the end, had a more original plot, made Kazooie a fully playable character on her own as well as Banjo, expanded the world, etc.

@MAURICIO GUTIÉRREZ RODRÍGUEZ maybe its cuz certain parts of tooie were slower paced? that's fair, but for me, there's way more positive that outweigh that one negative.
@BenMurrayyy
@BenMurrayyy 5 жыл бұрын
For me, the reason why I don't really enjoy Tooie as much as Kazooie is probably because of the pace of the game. It's way, way slower paced, and the overall speed of the characters feels far slower, especially because of the scale of the worlds. Bigger doesn't always mean that it's better, after all. With Kazooie, the worlds are smaller but every single area feels unique and memorable, whereas in places like Terradactyland, you can get lost with how samey everything looks. Not just that, but the overall pace of the game is way slower, too. You have to do really grading and sometimes downright frustrating minigames to get a LOT of the total jiggies, and some are just downright locked behind an ability or a situation that you can't get to until later in the game. That's the thing that personally made me prefer the first over the second; Backtracking. In Kazooie, you could get everything in the world in half an hour, and move onto the next one with no problems. In Tooie, you have to find the Joggy, realise you can't get it, and scour the next five worlds looking for the move you need to actually get the Jiggy you missed, before moving on again. Not just that, but the collectibles themselves take longer to actually use. Get a Honeycomb? In Kazooie, get six and BAM, extra energy bar. In Tooie, you have to get three in each level, and once you get enough, run to Honey B and get an extra life. Get a cheato page? In Kazooie, you just needed to FIND him. In Tooie, you get a page, backtrack ALL the way back to Spiral Mountain and fly into Grunty's Lair, before going back. Not to mention the amount of mindless game you have to play, as well as the constant change of controls. It's jarring to go from swimming normally to having inverted controls with the Talon Torpedo, or struggling to aim in first person when you're shooting in the air, sea or land. Overall, I love Tooie. It's a bit of my childhood. And yes, it's a bigger game than Kazooie was, and a great sequel, but people keep crying about how no-one talks about Tooie compared to it's predecessor, even though Banjo-Kazooie is just a better game overall.
@OmegaChase1002
@OmegaChase1002 5 жыл бұрын
@@BenMurrayyy You mentioned the pace twice, dude. Personally, i dont mind the slower pace since the movement and level design has overall improvement. Also since my notes dont go away for no reason when i leave a world, i can play at my own pace instead of the game forcing me to collect everything in one sitting, which is the big thing for me. Also i love using kazooie as a rifle. I love all the new moves, with this being my favorite.

The stuff strung together in this run is definitely not all supposed to work. Especially the chained moves of the separate characters get stuff done that skips so many requirements. The 3:26:17 one is one of the most blatant examples: you're supposed to let Kazooie hatch the egg, then put the the resulting floating creature in Banjo's backpack, and then float across the gap. Instead the move chaining allows you to just clear it at once, without even needing Kazooie.
