I did the volume mod with a 29k resistor. Made a lot of difference! Thanks for the video and the info!

Good video, thanks for sharing these tricks. I’m wondering if units I got are working correctly from the sound level standpoint of view. If I change the volume level, the sound level doesn’t change at all. Only volume indicator disappear (lowest possible) then suddenly the sound level changes down to a level right little audible. In few words: the volume level doesn’t work. Is it a standard behaviour or it’s a problem of my units? Is the mod you suggested a trick to solve this problem? Thanks

Did you disconnect the chips' legs from the board? or you just attached the resistor to them?
