Baptism By Fire: Warrior Week - not the bmac show - Episode 13 - 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur
It's hard for me to describe Warrior Week (technically, I believe it's called Warrior Evolution. But I always say Warrior Week).
Truthfully, I'm of 2 minds when it comes down to it. Part of me loves it. It's always good bonding with my guys and lots of fun and it's an interesting look into how far a really dedicated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu player has separated himself from the standard human being, at least when it comes to physical altercation and dealing with stress.
But, it's also kinda hard for me. Because the objective is to break these guys emotionally. That's what they signed up for. That's what I've been contracted to do. Everyone knows that coming in.
And breaking someone is hard. Because truthfully, you just don't know how they are gonna respond to that. And it's not necessarily fun to push someone past their limit. All of us have stuff going on inside that no one else knows or understands. And when pressed, that can get ugly if we aren't emotionally prepared to deal with it. Luckily, the staff at Warrior Week is ultra good at what they do and they're supporting these guys the rest of the week with really powerful counseling and support. The objective is to leave bigger and better than when you showed up. Break down to build up kind of thing.
And it works. These guys consistently tell us that it's a life changing experience. And so we keep agreeing to do it. And it keeps producing results.
I hope yall enjoy this look inside Warrior Evolution. I'm interested to hear the responses lol. It happens here at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Decatur, Alabama. We get contracted to do it a couple of times each year.

I think it might have been Adlai actually. It was either him or Scott Elliot. I started learning from those guys around the same time and they both come from that Paulson background which is how this landed in my lap.

Wait wait wait wait wait.... did I understand that these guys signed up for this and had no BJJ Experience? Dude that is an intense. The whole situation is craziness, but going into it just a tough guy off the street?! I can't imagine. Not like it matters when one of you savages gets on top, but still... It's the difference of asking someone who knows how to swim to jump in and tread water with their clothes on (matter of time before you go down) and someone who's never swam in their life.
@brandonmcninja
@brandonmcninja 4 жыл бұрын
That’s mostly correct. We do this a few times every year. There is always someone in the group with army combatives, wrestling, MMA or some various background. The big guy this year had some MMA experience. But yeah, it’s an insane situation.

Well i get that as the guy was speaking explaining per say a blue belt test where u roll for a hr n you deff get gased ....... Yea that shits 100% deff gota learn to push n see what ur capable off n yes stuff like that will push you especially if u have never been thru truth conflict or combat before............ But i feel like thats better when they are aware of at least the positions 😂 they aint even know what to really do all this to help them personally mentally ???😭ard😭😭(2 words come to mind cognitive dissonance).....im sure u was showing stuff after n before cuz 😂 thats why ur laughing da whole video this shit is da bid😭😭😭😭 ............ur preaching of the white belt is survival belt stuff which is all true its that u was so litteral that well you could have hurt them n scared some away from learning it ..... But it clearly had a positive effect so keep up the gd work👍🏽........... just honest thoughts from a random youtuber🙏🏽......
