Appreciate all the work on the review, as well as the honesty

I say pretty good shooting for an auto. And like you said, this is hunting rifle and not a competition target gun. Good video.

I’m thankful that you two did such a thorough review (s) of the BAR MK3 DBM because I have been puzzled by my inability to dial mine in. It seems especially susceptible to the barrel heating up because, as soon as I think I’m getting it on target, it drifts on the following groups. I like to zero my rifles at 200, but I think I will re-zero this one at 100, and never shoot more than 2-3 shots without letting it cool down. As Y’all have said, the gun cycles and functions beautifully. It’s just not a long-distance gun, which is fine, as long as the buyer understands this.

That was the conclusion we came to, I try hard not to be unfair to anything I review… There were a lot of things I really like about this rifle, I was certainly disappointed in its accuracy. I’ve had others write to me and say that they’re getting 1 inch groups no matter how much they shoot it out to 300 yards, and that’s great, but our particular rifle is doing exactly the same as yours. This is the only 308 rifle I own that has a 1 in 12 twist rate and I think that coupled with the supporter barrel is the culprit. Thank you for taking the time to write, I enjoy reading other peoples experiences. 👍

I live in a banned state and found one of these at my lgs wheni was looking for a bolt action. These are still legal here so i put it on layaway. It's one of the only semi autos still legal here so i had to get it. After watching your vids and reading the comments im probably setting mine up like a scout rifle.

That’s a good choice 👍 I believe they’re perfect for your particular situation… As I stated in the video, my expectations are pretty high for an $1800 rifle. Perhaps I’m a little unfair with my expectations, but the rifle is extremely reliable and well-made. 😎

I watch your other videos before I bought my rifle. But I got mine for making drives and hunting with dogs.

Be interesting to see a 5 shoot group. I wonder if you bedded the action if it would help. Just a thought. Great video

I put 51 grains of bl-c2 powder under that 125 but in a short barrel I would use IMR -4895

I’ve been wanting one of these rifles for the longest time. I just haven’t brought myself to spend that much.

They are nice, but definitely expensive, an AR10 or LR308 scratches the same itch for less money 😉

I've watched 3 of your videos on this rifle. I have same gun. I have never had any flyers. It might be that gun itself. My groups at 100 and 200 are always the same. 1/2 moa , i haven't shot at 300 yards because there's no range around with 300. But i love my Bar!

Glad to hear your rifle is shooting that good. It may very well be our particular rifle, I do love the ergonomics of this firearm and I have to say it is very reliable… Out of all the shots and different loads we tried, the firearm never had a malfunction (that’s very impressive) I was disappointed in the accuracy we were getting, but as you stated, it could be our rifle or shooter error; however I regularly shoot 1/2 MOA with all three of my AR10 rifles at ranges from 100 to 400 yards. Hot or cold barrel, it didn’t make a difference. Again glad you are getting good results 👍

My DBM shoots 1 1/4” groups with factory ammo. And that wasn’t from a bench. These guns typically don’t group as good as bolt guns. And some bolt guns don’t group much better. But are fine hunting guns. Most hunters aren’t gonna shoot over 300 yards.

Agree with you on all points, I just want to reiterate this was our particular rifle, and we shot a lot of different types of ammo with different bullet weights… Shooting a 168 grain I was able to get a 1 inch group, but that was not consistently done with three shots. We did a few videos on this if you want to go back and look , but again you are exactly right most hunters are not going to shoot over 300 yards. 👍

if it's similar enough to the FNAR it'll shoot 175gr the best. I had similar problems in the fnar with 168 and 150 but buffalo bore 175 was under an inch i couldnt get consistent even then but it felt like it was me out of ten groups 5 were .75" @ 100yds 3 shot group and none of them went past 1.25"

I get the best results with 175gr in most of my 308 rifles… This is the only one I’ve owned that had a 1 in 12 twist barrel, and I think that has a lot to do with the accuracy we are seeing. Also remember this is just one sample, and could be the rifle… I know all three of my AR10/LR308 rifles shoot 1/2 MOA with 168 and 175gr, and all three have a 1 in 10 twist barrel. Thanks for the info 👍

What is an LR 308?
@lastminuteman6 ай бұрын
It’s a variant of the AR10 originally developed by DPMS… It has been favored over the original Armalite AR10 because of its cross compatibility with AR15 parts.

Have two BARs that shoot much better than that newer rifle.

I’d love to test out one of the more traditional models, these almost seem like an afterthought… Still a good rifle, just not polished

Just over a moa at 300 yrds is just "fair” in your book? That’s great accuracy for any hunting rifle
@lastminuteman18 күн бұрын
It’s possible I’m being harsh, mostly because of the high cost of the BAR… It’s a great utility rifle for sure, but I believe it’s overpriced for the performance when compared to any ar10 or lr308 I’ve shot for half the price. I went in with high expectations that weren’t met; and again perhaps I’m overly critical, but it’s my honest opinion.

@@lastminuteman I want to see a "just over 1 moa at 300 yards” (with any hunting rifle) real time live , uncut video. I really doubt it

@guaporeturns9472 Check out our video on the lr308 DMR We shot 2” groups at 400 yards… We do a Picture in Picture real time so check it out. We also do it with a bolt action 110 hunter A Remington model 660 in 243 and the list goes on. It has a lot to do with hand loading and finding what a rifle likes.

@@lastminuteman Yeah I forgot to add that factory ammo is kinda required in my world. I’ll take a look
