According to Kantar World Panel sales of bars of soap are up 3% and scientists are saying the claims of bars of soap being full of germs has been blown way out of proportion. So with the war on plastic getting stronger, could bars of soap out sell liquid soap in 2019 and manufacturers and celebrities help bring back the bar of soap?
Bars of soap have declined in sales so much that supermarkets and other retailers sell them on the bottom shelves on reduced facings, but as plastic continues to bu over used... should soap return to the mainstream and liquid soap be removed?

Brilliant video, thank you! I've just gone back to bars of soap (imperial leather) and I'm so glad I did. The smell is as amazing at it always was- such a nostalgic smell- and I feel like soap just cleans so much better! Bring back soap I say! Xx

I exclusively buy bar soaps and, in the US, I've never had a soap that was wrapped in plastic INSIDE the box. If there's any plastic wrapping, then it's encasing multiple boxes of soap.

every 3/4 months I go to Savers in town and buy around 20 bars of dove and put them in a cupboard then when Im down to my last one I stock up again

I remember my Nan always used to have bars of soap, gave me a nice nostalgia kick seeing the bar of Imperial Leather. The shield packaging looks like a certain female product.

My gran used to always have a lemon scented soap in her bathroom. Growing up I also remember the smell of imperial leather at home. I use simple or Aldi gentle soap for in the bath. But we use liquid hand soap for wc and kitchen x

WRIGHTS TRADITIONAL Tar soap is good stuff. Reminds me of my Grandparents bathroom when I was a lad.

I love bar soap. Much better than using silly, childish shower gel. But there's very little sensible options for mens bar soap in the UK... You can get bullguard (for £5 a bar... Forget that) and the Dove MenCare which is ridiculously tiny and overpriced. The _few_ good, sensible smelling bar soap for men is Wrights in the orange packaging, and Shield. When my girlfriend comes over from Mexico, I get her to bring 5 or 6 bars with her. It's so much better, bigger, nicer smelling, and cheaper too! You can get a 165g bar for 10 pesos (50p).

CIDAL is an antibacterial soap, it's very effective but should not be used if you have dry skin or very sensitive skin 🤔 I use it on hot summer days when I am sweaty 🥵

Imperial Leather is the one soap smell that takes me back to my childhood. I was smelling Vosene shampoo at my sister's the other day but doesn't smell like it used to, it has that similar smell but not as strong..

Yes I was born in 1999 and I used imperial leather back then but I’ve gone off memory of what it smells like I think it’s smells the same

I'm never going back to fluent cremy soap. That sfuff leave my hand greasy. Put the last bit of bar soap in your lather bowl. Works fine for shaving.

We use soap currently Johnson baby soap but id buy any soap really whats on offer imperial leather was a big soap growing up theyd have a sticker in the middle of the soap and would come off when using the soap we also so use liquid soap mainly in the kitchen

I think you are wrong because 1. Zest is an American Brand 2. Cidal is a British brand 3. My friend buys one or two bars for me every summer in her home country Lebanon, the packaging is still the same and it says "Made in Turkey, UK Brand"

I remember zest lemon soap that was good is it strange to smell of lemon, carbolic ha ha sorry sounds funny ( car bollick )was the best it was used in hospitals but the smell puts me off imperial leather is what i use now, its got just the right scent not too strong, do use the soap more when it a new one i do its the new smell that's get me going

I’m a strange one lol I love soap done for face imperial leather for body or lux I grate a lil in my bath under hot water I evern carry my own hand bar in a plastic soap box for my hands

When I filmed this waaaay before the pandemic I mention that soap takes longer to wash off... 20 seconds hand washing is easier and more thorough with proper soap isn't it lol.
