Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the talent of Jack Gleeson,who made this character so despicable, that we literally cheered as a teenage boy died painfully in his distraught mothers arms.
@justapoet2794 Жыл бұрын
Indeed! As well the makeup department for that “choking” look(I don’t know what to call it). But I can’t help but wonder how some of the actual despised characters on Game of Thrones are treated in real life 🤔 I mean, common sense would say they are incomparable to their show characters. On the other hand, in our heads after watching so much of one character do so much unredeemable behavior and actions we can’t help but compare actor and character 🤔
@tychozuiderduijn9585 Жыл бұрын
@@justapoet2794 unfortunately, Jack Gleeson got a lot of hate from people who couldn't separate actor and character from being the same person, and he actually stopped acting for a long period of time after having done the role of Joffrey because of the hate he received

Well, lets say, that I admire our world full of religions, hope, humanity, love, perception, empathy etc... But then you have these proves, that as a kind we are same savages as all the other organisms out there.. I know it is a series, but this is actually a scientific image of how gruesome our nature can be ( otherwise how could anybody clap to someones being poisoned, when we know that person did not hurt My family, did not destroy My nest, did not steal my peanuts, did not eat nor my children nor my ancestrors etc.. I belong there and I do not feel ashamed. I was not happy when Joffrey died, cause I knew - everybody is going through some shiat and judging does not help.. but I kinda clapped anyway - that proved me we are all the same ( I mean living creatures on earth) only people can do more damage to others than the rest of organisms..

Some of the people in these comments take themselves waaay too seriously. If anything, complain to the writers (or heck, to George R.R. Martin who created the character). Joffrey was written, from the start, to be hated and despised. He's one of the very few characters in the show (along Ramsay Snow) who basically has zero redeeming qualities. Take that, mix in the recent "Red Wedding" which people were still bitter over, and this was simply some much-needed catharsis.

Aaaahhhh (1:46), the humanity felt in this bar, the lip licking blood lust of it's patrons, as they watched the life of the very lesser of the evils plaguing Westeros be snuffed out .........typical.

"Lesser" of the evils? Let's see, he wasn't even 18 yet, and he ordered the murders of every bastard child of his father, including a baby, he tortured to death a woman by shooting her full of arrows, he started a war by idiotically beheading a decent man that resulted in thousands killed, would you rather have waited until he got Worse??

Maked Marvyl Yep I said it, oh don't get me wrong, the kid was a bad apple through and through, but more than anything he was just plain stupid, and the last time I checked stupid people don't rule for very long, so there would be no real chance of Joff becoming worse now is there? No, you want to talk about great evil? Try the white walkers, or better yet, the cunning and manipulative Melissandre taking Stannis for a fantasy ride by telling him he's Azor Ahai reborn, and then spreading her legs wide open so that he'll nut up in her, so that she can in turn squirt out killer shadow babies that can go around knocking off the competition to the Iron Throne, so that once this is done, the personable Stannis can set up a monotheistic theocracy smack in the middle of pagan Westeros and . . . well, just imagine the blood baths. So yeah, Joff is the very lesser of the evils in Westeros. P.S. of course it's a good thing that Joffrey is out of the pic, what I meant by the comment was that even the most decent human beings occasionally indulge in joyous jeering when someone that they genuinely dislike kicks the bucket, provided of course that said person is equally disliked by the bigger portion of the crowd, if not, the decent human being might be forced into internalizing this display of joy, in this case however the general crowd was in 'emotional' agreement and free to display their blood lust, which is fine by me, but which I also found amusing and macabre. : ) ok?

What a bunch of gay moralists in the comments. Guess sometimes they forget it's a character and not a real person who's choking to death.

Elias6233 To be fair, if there _were_ a real person like that, his death would be even greater cause for celebration. I cheered the news that Kim Jong-Il had died because I thought it opened a window for reform. We saw how that worked out, alas. 😞

Even if it's not a real person, the reason we feel what we feel is that we are humans and we can relate to such behaviors from our experiences. Ever heard of the term "Moral of the story"? and why do I get the feeling that you just hit puberty?

That put a smile in their faces.
