The Bar to Belgrade train is supposed to be the best way to visit Serbia from Montenegro. We head to Bar to see if we can get tickets for the train. We stay at the closest location to the train station, a cheap and strange Hostel. Starving, we find a local place to eat as all other business is closed on a Sunday.

Great video. Your getting very adventurous now. Ive done many hostels in my time. Jay looked real hot in the dorm room. Great meeting places though. I liked the food but wasnt feeling the cleanliness at all. Your nailing the bus trips in your stride now too. Keep posting ! 😉

Oh yes, by the end of the night.. that dorm room was hot as can be. No air conditioning, just a fan. It was gross. The food was good... the cleanliness.. it was fine, actually the bathroom was spotless, and inside the place was clean as can be... and the food prep area, the guy was constantly cleaning and working on. Bus trips, ah yes... we just had another one... didn't record it, too tired. Thanks for watching, and yes, we will keep posting! Several videos in the pipeline just working on editing.

Thanks! We have not been to Ulcinj but have heard nice things about it. We have the train ride and a few Belgrade video's in the works... just need to get them edited, takes quite a while to produce a video. Today we are on the move to our next country, stay tuned!

I wish I knew about 'Sidro'. I walked from Bar city centre to the bus station many times as I stayed in Sutomore for a month for 15Euro/night. It cost 1.50 on the bus or by cab to get there. There's a beautiful beach at the entrance called Susanj with lots of trees, restaurants and playgrounds. I loved hanging in the Bar restaurants along the beach. I've also heard that many Serbian politicians and similar go to Bar for some dental work as well as botox. I also loved people here. The place felt safe. Good on ya for staying at a hostel. They can feel quite cosy. One can meet some lovely travelers that way, too.

On our return journey we got off the train in Sutomore and spent one night, it was nice but the area so busy with tourists.. presumably most are Serbians. Sidro was pretty good! We paid more than you to stay in Sutamore, but if we were staying longer would have got a better price. $15/eu a night is a very low price. Thanks for watching! The train video is coming out soon!!!

@@JayandSarah Yes, I was there back in April or May, that's why it was cheaper and not yet so packed with people. Looking forward to watching your train trip. Thanks heaps guys!

Our city is beautiful. There are many beautiful things to see, it just takes time and you have to go around. There are also bad points, but that is all due to unplanned development, but the most important thing is to go where there is good because there are plenty of those things. That restaurant and facilities they look neglected around, but the food is very good..Otherwise, the train station needs to be moved to another location, a new one is planned, closer to the center...above the center.
@JayandSarah
@JayandSarah Ай бұрын
The food was very good for sure, the area is no doubt neglected. The thing with new stuff is, it also needs to be maintained. You can't build a new bus station and then have bathrooms that nobody checks on or maintains. It doesn't need to be this way. But yes, the country and scenery are simply outstanding! We have enjoyed our time in Montenegro and will be back again. Not our first stay either!

Thanks! Yes we do have some Belgrade content to come, a bit behind in editing at the moment due to the side trip. And... putting each video together takes a fair bit of time. I try to do them as nice as possible, so hopefully our channel will grow if more people see and like them!

The train is old, from the times of Yugoslavia, but will reward you with nice scenery if you take it in the day. Or you could have just taken a 45-minute flight from Podgorica or Tivat to Belgrade.

@JayandSarah Ай бұрын
Yes the views were quite good in Montenegro. In Serbia, not so much. We took the train both ways actually, in the daytime. 10.5 hours each way. I would not do it again, the flight from Tivat to Belgrade would have been a better option. The Montenegrin train is not in very good condition and could do with replacing. We enjoyed our time regardless. Stay tuned for the video on that, as well as our time in Serbia!

Useful video! Did you visit the town center of BAR ? Just wondering whether is it worth it to stay a week or longer in BAR? I think its location is good for exploring the Southernmost part of Montenegro as well as Albania ?
@JayandSarah
@JayandSarah Ай бұрын
We didn't, we were just there for the night to as cheaply and conveniently access the train in the morning. It would be a good location, many people go there... it is not a very nice looking waterfront. We did spent one night on the way back in Sutamore. That area is a good location to explore southern Montenegro through Ulcinj (Mostly ethnic Albanians) and then you will cross into Albania.

People of your age should not be staying at hostels. I always thought hostels are for young people - teenagers, school and university students who don't have money and can sleep basically anywhere.
@JayandSarah
@JayandSarah Ай бұрын
Why not stay at hostels? It was available, lots of space, and a cheap cost and convenient. Hostels are frequently used by backpackers, who tend to be younger people... but that is only because older people actually don't travel much, they take "vacations" for a few weeks and then go home. We have no home, we travel full time... and anything we can do to make life easier and cut costs, is worth doing.

Because of comfort, which is not important to young people but is important to older people. Anyway, the Balkans is a very safe destination. Probably 10 times safer than the US

@JayandSarah Yes in war time but that was a long time ago. More than 30 years ago. World is changing in just 2 or 3 years. Slowly Balkan is for me very precious in today's fast and furious world. I think that will be like that always. So, life, pluses and minuses.
