How do you expect any white or black president to do anything that only one race would benefit from? What did you expect him to do, give every black American $50,000? Or say that every black American must have a job and force companies to hire only blacks? Congress couldn't even pass a $10,000 student loan relief package. Do you honestly believe those white lawmakers in D.C. would pass any legislation that only benefits black folks? We need to be honest with ourselves. I would have loved it if there was more done with police reform. Far too many police officers are getting away with murdering unarmed black and brown people. But again, police reform would affect all communities, not just the black community. What were you expecting from the black president that only blacks would benefit from?

I have been telling the same thing to my countrymen here in Angola and they really don’t understand the ontological depth of failure that Obama has with African Americans. I remember it being late 2008 (or was it early 2009? Yeah it was early 2009 - correct me if I’m wrong whoever might be a fellow brother residing in the USA) and I was in school the next day after Obama was determined the new president of Americans at the time, and everybody was so elated, finally hopeful that life for all the negritude worldwide was going to change significantly for the better - Obama was a sigil of triumph for African descent human beings, people in Angola went nuts just for the ethnical connection that the man has with the rest of us… years later people started making excuses stating it was the supremacist nature of the system and the previous administration (the bush administration) that obstructed his ability to pave the way for the improvement of black people. Since I was an adolescent at the time and somewhat impressionable despite my precocious maturity compared to my peers, I accepted the excuse (despite that indeed, damn of course, that judeo-white supremacy has a hand in these politico-systematic let-downs). Truth is, in my opinion, Obama could’ve gone out of his way in major sacrificial ways to do at least something. This is my humble assessment, much love and respect to you all. I enjoy much of the content in this channel.

Although I don’t agree with everything Phil says, his insight and analysis of Barry are 100 percent spot on. Sadly, the world was and is too ready to overlook anything negative about that guy. He’s like a fantasy that they need to be true.

Did blacks really expect Obama to do all these great things that was anticipated? You knew damn well that wasn't happening in this lifetime. Not just the Dem party but neither will the Gop. Only vote to level the playing field is all you can do. It took both parties months and months to even give a stimulus check reparations is out of the question.

What were the expectations he is speaking of especially with the type of senate that was in control who vowed they'd not let Obama be successful? He should cite those expectations but make sure he doesn't say "we" or include all Black/African Americans.

Smdh we had the same expectations that all the other groups had that Obama did something for. Those where the expectations Obama just left Blacks out and took care of everyone else’s expectations

The Senate's "vow" to stop Obama from being successful failed horribly then. Because he was sure enough more than successful making power moves for every other people group other than his own. The expectations we had were not unfathomable. Do something for the "people group" who have been the most oppressed and disenfranchised group of people right here in America for more than 400 years. But he did exactly what Both parties have done and will always do. Benign Neglect of our community is on purpose and from both sides of the bird. The question we need to be asking is why???

@@lanniedee857 What do you expect? A handout? I don't put too much stock into people like him because even when he complains about Biden, he always seem to gloss over the Emmitt Till Antilynching Act that he passed, the numerous black federal judges he appointed including a black Supreme Court Justice, his DOJ opening numerous investigations into police departments and getting violators of someone's civil rights convicted. If people really paid attention to politics they also would have witnessed a whole lot more that was done across country pertaining to criminal justice reform. Just saying.
