Living in Germany, I watched the speech live on TV and I must say: Thanks for reminding us. Thanks for everything the United States of America did for us. I couldn't be here without you! Lots of Germans love to complain about their lives, but forget, where we would be without you. I'm deeply grateful for everything! For the future I'd like to see a even more deep and faithful relationship! Thanks America!

so glad you posted this! i printed the transcript yesterday and read it on the subway - i wanted to read/hear it without all the commentary from our friends in the media... so great - a wonderful, inspirational speech.

I'm from Germany. WE LOVE BARACK OBAMA! He gives us hope. Another period of a Bush-like president McCain would cause massive depression in Europe and around the world. So please, American people, vote for Barack Obama as President of the United States! Only then the world will love your country as we used to.

As a dual German-American citizen currently living in the U.S., I really got the global vibe from this speech that I could have never gotten from McCain. I'm homesick for both of my countries, and I hope Obama gives me at least one of them back.

I watched this live on the news today, and for the first time in my life I realized I was watching something that would go down in history. Future generations will come to talk of Barack and his ideals no matter the outcome of this race. But I still have hope, even from my home in Canada, I have faith in you Americans. Choose the right candidate. Vote Obama'08!

Politicians can & do lie.We all know that. But what you see here is something different. Obama,at the time of this vid, was just a senator running for Pres. Yet thousands in GERMANY showed up to hear him speak. You don't get that kinda support unless on some level you've been able to touch and affect alot of people on many levels. There's not been a politicians who's been able to do that in awhile. No the man isn't Messiah. But he certainly is inspirational. And that's amazing in and of itself.

my god, it is just surreal how incredible this guy is! is there any situation he can't conquer? (besides bowling!) it is apparent that even if he doesn't win the Presidency at this point, the world is open to this man and his ideas. I am in absolute awe, I can't believe he really exists! WOW is right danielkvs

"People of Berlin - and people of the world - the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world" Sen. Obama, you are the new shining hope for peace and prosperity not just for America but the entire world.

It should go without saying that a potential president should be intelligent, decisive, diplomatic, and well-spoken. Obama has all of these attributes. I've watched him on this tour he is doing, and I'm still taken aback by his ease and grace in any situation. He is truly remarkable, and will lift up this nation. When I see him and hear him speak, I feel my cynicism slipping away. We need him in this world. If we don't make him our next president, we will have nobody but ourselves to blame.

Some could hate his race, background or friends but you cant hate his vision for the future. He is indeed an inspiration for not only americans but the entire world and this speech has solidified that. I know he will be the next president. I am so blessed to be alive and attentive during the rise of his leadership and legacy. I wasn't alive to witness the immediate influence that Abe Lincoln,FDR,JFK or MLK had on our country, but i am able experience his. This is history in the making

Obama doesn't seem to be reading from a tele-prompter or from a written speech before him. I think it's very impressive that he can believe so much in his ideals that he just knows it and doesn't have to be told them.
@Ramsfanatic16 жыл бұрын
I was there (I'm a Berlin native) and I can tell you that almost nobody was there for the rock concert. I guess most didn't even know there would be a programm before Obama speaks. Make no mistake they came to hear Obama, not for something else...

This speech was beautiful. I practically cried. America would just be silly to not elect this man... say what you want about him. I think he's as honest as one can be in politics and that he's going to promise much of what he said he'll deliver. No one can be fully prepped and ready to be the President of the United States America... It takes some courage, innovation, and spirit... Obama really seems to have it.

200,000 citizens of the world went to watch him speak. It is so surreal. I hope he wins. Otherwise not only America will be disapointed, but Europe as well. A McCain can't get the following Obama has generated around the globe. I am a proud liberal/progressive American and citizen of the World voting for Obama in 2008 and 2012. In this day and age polititians can't just focus on their own country anymore, our interests are connected and should focus on the benefit of all people. OBAMA!!!
