The El and Liv ship will always make sense during their prime, the first decade before he left SVU for good. Now, they literally are dragging it so far in that the times and circumstances have changed. Clinging onto Stabler has not been healthy for Benson, especially the wounds she carries from him and the wounds he still has not addressed as well. Barba is freeing and a sense of what a potential healthy relationship could be, especially with someone who has been her good friend and the closest man next to Stabler that understands her. There was a time that Liv and El's chemistry was fuel and life for their survival at SVU and life in general, but flame is just flickering on and off with smoke in the air making it difficult for Olivia to breathe. She can breathe with Barba, but she's codependent state and remains inhaling toxic smoke.

I'm Barson (Liv&Barba) all the way still honestly. And he was the first father figure to Noah. I kind of liked Peter Stone, the guy who took over for Barba too, but Barba was just the best. He still is the best in my book. Relationship and ADA. Barba's the best. I was never in line with Tucker getting together with Olivia. I mean I thought there'd be a chance kind of and she might get back together with Cassidy after Barba left..but Tucker?..Seriously?..Olivia hated Tucker at the start..It seemed as if she hated him throughout the entire series..So yeah that threw me..And as for the ADA part, yes Carisi had his dream and I'm happy he fulfilled it and he deserved it. But it wasn't really the same.
