A little departure from my usual videos for Christian songs. Before I started listening to Christan music I listened to country music for decades. Here's one of the most melancholy and tear-jerking country songs ever recorded, the lovely Barbara Mandrell singing "Years." This is not the radio version, this is a live version from her TV show. Wow. When it comes to heartbreak songs this one ranks right up there with Linda Ronstadt's "Long, Long Time."

Scrolling through the comments and I see some who I understand their feelings. After 45 years, we are finally together. Feb. 78 was the last time I saw her… never saw her again. Oct.2023…. I met her again….I will never let her get away again. I love you Jeanie…..

This song reminds me of my 1st love Nicky. We never married as we wanted to but l have never ever stopped loving him and I will love him beyond this life. Thank you Barbara for singing this beautiful song.

Loretta, thank you. I agree, if I don't say so myself, I think I did a pretty good job on that video, but it's really sad. Although the song is sung by a woman, I can relate. For me it was not all that many years, only four, but they were four tough years. It was my first ever girlfriend who dumped me for another guy. He didn't have a lot to offer, she was primarily infatuated by his long blond hair that went almost to his waist. I assumed she'd eventually get over her infatuation and come back to me. Well, she sort of did. She wanted to reconnect with me about five years after we broke up. Trouble was that in the meantime I met and married a wonderful, Godly woman, and was long over that first girlfriend. She had her chance. And now I've been married to that Godly woman for 44 years.
