Barbara was my dad’s cousin. Her father, Roy, was my grandfather’s younger brother. She was always so kind and gracious. When my father passed away in 2015, Barbara wrote me a very nice letter recalling some of the adventures she and my dad had when they were growing up. I will miss her genuine smile. She could always light up a room with that smile!

Superb collage of one of the world's most under-rated, gorgeous and gifted artistes. She played as leading lady with some of the biggest male stars of the 50's and 60's: Rock Hudson [Magnificent Obsession & Captain Lightfoot], Jack Palance: Kiss of fire., Paul Newman [The Young Philadelphians], Stewart Granger [Harry Black & The Tiger]; Kirk Douglas [Strangers When We Meet ], Richard Burton [The Bramble Bush] . She was a natural before the camera and looked more exquisite with the passage of time. Her porcelain features, a template for classical beauty was as fresh in the 60's and 70's as when she made her debut in the early 50's. Her's was a serene beauty that was astonishing yet, at the same time, accessible. It was a winning combination which was the formula for her boundless confidence and longevity in the movie and television business.

I fell in love with Barbara Rush when I was about 11 years old. They showed "When Worlds Collide" on television. I have the Blu-ray now. Always thought she was a cutie.

She was so beautiful when she was young. That's why they called her "Beautiful" Barbara Rush. In the clip at 0:45 she looks a lot like a brunette Marilyn Monroe. I read that she passed away today, at age 97. Pleasant journeys lovely lady! 💗

Barbara Rush, imo, only got more beautiful as she got older. She was cute when she was young but seemed to grow into her beauty more fully as she became more mature. They don't make'em like they used to.

I discovered Barbara in Stranger we meet and then watched the young philadelphians - She is what I would define as the CHARM personified - I was in love with Gene Tierney but Barbara has that je ne sais quoi than cant be explained - the way she looks, she smiles, her face expressions all is about charming and most importantly a natural charm as if she was not acting but natural behaving -

Thank you so much for putting that together and sharing it. When I was 26, in 1987, one morning, I'll never forget, I was in a hurry to get out the door one day, as I was rushing through the livingroom I glanced at the television at the very moment that scene your video began with was on. I was so taken by the young woman in the scene that I stopped suddenly, so suddenly that I slid on the carpet hitting the coffee table leg with my foot to which my then gf, who was watching the tv, said "don't hurt yourself". I then asked "Who is that?!" she looked up at me and said "on second thought, I hope you hurt yourself"... I gave her a kiss on the forehead then ran out the door. Later on I scanned through the TV Guide (facsimile) searching for: Paul Newman in a movie at 10am Sat. and found the listing: "The Young Philadelphians" and the name Barbara Rush...which confused me because I already had a crush on a Barbara Rush but she was a fair haired woman I guessed was 15 yrs my senior... oh my gosh, they are the same woman!? The next day my gf told me "You didn't recognize Barbara Rush?? I thought you said you had a crush on her since you were in your teens?" I laughed and then my jaw dropped when she told me that Barbara was actually 24 yrs. my senior. I will never forget how my heart skipped a beat and how "Wowed" I was by Barbara in that scene and actually disappointed that I didn't recognize her at that moment, but when I managed to watch the entire movie soon thereafter, I did, but oddly, it wasn't as easy as I had thought it should have been. Now I had a crush on her when she was younger and another crush on her when she was older. LOL!

RIP Barbara Rush The death of Ms. Rush means the death of another "Batman" TV villain, Nora Clavicle. The sole surviving full-time cast member of "Batman" is Burt Ward/Robin. The sole surviving male villain is John Astin/The Riddler. The surviving female villains: Julie Newmar/Catwoman Seasons 1 and 2 - Joan Collins/The Siren Lee Meriwether, the Catwoman of the Batman movie of 1966, is also alive.

Nice little collage that you're put together. Well done. Good choice of music and well paced. Thanks for sharing. I liked her best in the Young Philadelphians. Wow - what a dynamic between Barbara and Paul Newman. So many greater performances in that movie. And her range is fantastic going from the spritely debutante to the demure and elegant widow. You don't hear the expression much these days but Barbara Rush has class. And hasn't she aged well through her career.

years ago - i saw her in WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE - and fell in love - only to discover she was my mom's age - - it amazes me that someone so beautiful could be a fine actress too - too bad she never made the top tier - but as a consequence - i could relish in her frequent guest appearances on tv - - even as she aged - she maintained a pull on me - and her performances remained incisive

? La Haute-Définition a tué le cinéma. Je suis un fan des films de ces années-là.
