tuve la suerte de cantar Amor dormiglione de Strozzi para un examen final de canto en el conservatorio de Moron, Pcia de Buenos Aires. Me hubiera encantado cantar más Strozzi, pero no al piano, que es una masacre!!!!

+chch Some work is needed... white mensural notation isn't easy for everyone. Besides, these guys made very long and beautiful instrumental sections between each "Che si puo fare".

I agree, it isn't easy for everyone to read, and there was some arranging done for the recording, but if you have a good theorbo player, lutist, or harpsichordist, they might be able to work through it.

Singing Doc I'm not entirely sure if it's what she intended on doing, but from about 1100 to 1600 a lot of performers used something called "musica ficta", which essentially is a form of ornamentation/improvisation where the performer sharps or flats a note that is written (without a sharp or flat) to avoid certain intervals. Just my guess though, as it would fit with the time period of the piece.
