Not a Seagull but I love how open the club are to speak on different topics with directors etc gives insight into the side of football we don't often get to see/hear as a fan of football in general 👍🏼

I love how intelligently and with careful planning our club is run. I feel confident we are going to have a good few years ahead. Looking forward to it. As good as De Zerbi was and it wasn't his fault in losing his 2 best midfielders but I felt the style of play had gone stale, the momentum was lost and the change was needed. I hope we will continue in an attacking style. The key to it all is having more strength and physicality in CM so we can win the ball and dominate possession then feed the very talented attacking players. So the signing of Wieffer is very encouraging. I feel we will need another player like that yet. We were very lucky the season before last that Caceido didn't get injured. If Wieffer gets injured we are back to having a very lightweight CM again and that is a disaster in the PL. You cannot get away with players like Gross in CM with the pace and power of players and teams throughout the division. Baleba is going to be good, very quick to track back if needed. Gilmour is great on the ball but lacks physicality. Finding the right balance in CM is key to success

The style of play had definitely gone stale. Agreed

I'm pretty excited about Hurzeler. He's already an exciting young manager, and he's only going to get better. And Brighton's a perfect fit. They've shown repeatedly that they're fantastic at identifying new talent, players and managers 😁

I was glass well and truly full when Potter was our manager and I think the first to suggest at the fan forum in 2020 that we would soon get into Europe. I went up against naysayers time and time again who thought we would get relegated with Potter... BUT things have changed. We've been forced to play a hand and are looking downwards rather than upwards all of a sudden. I've been criticised online for being too anxious or negative about the upcoming season. THAT SAID...here are my reasons (besides David Weir looking quite naturally concerned) why I believe we're in for a FIGHT (along with Southampton, Everton, Forest, Leicester, Ipswich) particularly at the start of the season which could seep into mid-season or even the run-in if results don't improve. 1. Recent form ranks WORST amonst non-relegated teams in 2024 which is a concern at a time of transition with a less-experienced coach and staff. 2. Pre-season tour of Japan is ill-timed and an unnecessary distraction at a time of transition. 3. Managerial transition, missing out on main managerial target, lack of experience of new manager and coaching staff working together. 4. Integration of new players will take time, especially young players. 5. Squad depth is good but loss of key players like Gross and Lallana will be felt and some are returning from long-term injury. 6. Fixture difficulty ranks as one of the toughest of all PL teams to start with, no time for new manager, coaches and players to adapt. 7. Strength of competition (particularly Palace, Chelsea) has improved and the promoted clubs are arguably better than last season. 8. Faith in the model could result in a reluctance to adapt to adverse circumstances. 9. Poor results/form could result in a backlash from sections of the fan base who can't be patient. 10. More difficulty in controlling the narrative will affect young manager and players subject to inconsistency in form and confidence. Don't shoot the messenger!

Your concern is understandable. But when we see our action in the transfer window so far, looks like our board clearly realize how bad our situation was in the second half of 23/24 season and has a plan for the upcoming season. And I strongly believe that new manager appointment is a part of that plan

I'm not a brighton fan but always track the progression of the club it's fantastically run with the scale compared to other teams of a bigger scale but I disagree with your comments on the preseason tour trimming comment, to intergrate new players into a system takes time but to be able to compete against teams and input the system in a competitive inviroment with the players and have no emphasis on the result purely just to see his tactics and find his team is imperative plus to grow the club as a brand World wide is so important especially having Japanese internationals in the squad. I admire fans like yourself who look into everything in the club and not just the results/signing 👍🏼
