I have naturally curly hair on the silky side never seriously tried waves before until this year. My waves was looking nice in 24 hours. I put in hella work for 3 weeks, brushing, wearing durag or wave cap every day AND NIGHT my shit was spinning 180, I had a fade. Then one night I got hella turnt (I was having a henny moment) and fell alseep without my durag 😳🤦🏾‍♂️ by the time I woke up my hair was half curled back up, and going in all directions 😩 tuhhh...I just gave up and went back to curls. 😂😂😂 s/o to all y'all dedicated wavers, I learned quick it aint for everyone.

“The process of tapering hair involves reducing its length in a manner that forms a gradient. The gradient starts with longer hair at the top and leads into short hair closer to the hairline. Tapering is used in the majority of men’s haircuts to some degree, particularly near the base. This is where the haircut ends near the hairline. Fades are also gradient haircuts. Like tapers, they start with the long hair at the front that leads to short hair down the back and sides.Fades are different, firstly, because the hair at the start of the gradient is typically much shorter than that of a taper. The second reason is the fade itself. There is a lot more attention to detail used in a fade - like the name suggests, fade haircuts are supposed to give the impression of hair fading directly into the skin. The hairline is supposed to be minimized. Fades can be different lengths. “Low fades” end very close to the hairline, and “high fades” come to a stop quite a bit above the ears.
