You could totally call the toy fair blunders "Toy Taboos", which I think is a great idea. They can get one from excessive use of plastic, having too many outdated 'surprise' features, and things like that.

I really hope you do more of these when series 2 comes out. These are an interesting idea, and I'd like to see how they could improve them in a series 2. *coughbetterwigscough* It would be cool if the color changing factor extended to the clothes, or at least the bodysuit part. As someone who used to take Barbie into the tub, it would have been so cool to have a doll whose "bathing suit" changed color in the bathtub, or in the pool where the water would have been colder. They could really make this relatively cheaply made doll line a lot of fun if they tried. Oh, and color changing accessories! Does anyone else remember those plastic shoes that changed color in the sun? They were made of plastic (which was a terrible choice and those things should be classified as torture devices, but I digress), and I feel like Mattel could do something similar with Barbie's accessories. On an unrelated note, if anyone is like me and also really loves the blooming effect of the paint in the water and wants to recreate it without spending $15, buy some cheap acrylic paint and a variety pack of brushes and just . . . Enjoy the experience.

Interesting that traditionally “male” hobbies (like video games) aren’t treated as “silly kids stuff”. But things like barbies, American girls, monster high etc are apparently childish. I might be reading into it too much, but I think it is typical of societies belittlement of “women’s work”. And how traditionally nurturing jobs (teachers, nurses etc) are lower paid than than stem jobs like engineers or surgeons. Sorry for my rant haha
