Honestly this is the first time I wanted a color Reveal doll, She has glittery make up which I miss so bad in barbie dolls, even with painted clothes she's sparkly, Really long hair, Color changing other stuff, for me she's almost perfect!! - The circle one is an earing, doll earings have hooks at the end

Oh she's cute!! As someone who's removed a lot of barbie fashionista earrings that hook on the end is definitely something they've done for a while to prevent them for getting loose lol. Also, while I do think not every doll needs a brush what I've always come back to is the idea that this doll could be someone's very first one ever hence a brush being something they could really use. For me, nothing will top the mermaids - and did you see, a series 2 with a KEN merman is coming! - but these rooted ones will seemingly be very cute and easy to rebody if that is something people want to do.

The old Barbies from the 80s and 90s had this Hooks too. In the 2000s they start using Earings easy to remove. Especially for the My Scene Dolls that came with a lot of Jewlery and Stuff to change the Looks. I do not like the Hook Earrings. Especially if they are large. They are always in the way when brushing the Hair.

those definitely are earrings,, they’re just designed to go in her head and anchor themselves in so they aren’t removable, mattel has been doing that alot recently

Mattel has been doing this since like 1991. Removable earrings were not a common site on barbie after the 1980s.

I remember, as a kid, all my barbies had earings exactly like those! It was haaaard to take them off, sometimes, the broke. I’m 37 now… ;)

IMO I thought it was so cool the confetti/dots was coming off the dolls. I always hate these but for once the gimmick work lol It usually just some color water but wow the confetti actually come off, pretty cool.

I usually don't like the tackyness of these dolls, but I think it fits with these because it reminds me of a cupcake, and that fits the theme lol

Yay haven’t bought any of these yet. Target seems to be the one with Barbie & pets and Amazon has the Chelsea ones. 👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️ yay finally no wigs or hair extensions or molded hair. I’m just bummed the advent calendar & $50 party set similar to slumber party is wigs & hair extensions 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. Gorgeous eyeshadow on Barbie 😍😍😍

I always hated the earrings with those stalks. You could put them in, but I could never get them back out. Since they’ve done foam, I expect a slime reveal set at some point.

Just started the video & want to say your make up is usually great but today it is AMAZING love this pink perfection of an eye look with the soft peachy/pink lip paired with those (to me) totally Sailor Moon earrings & the mama dragon shirt is just BAM! Love it Queen! 👸🏼 Update... I actually want color reveal dolls again... I haven't since the mermaids... Oh my wallet! 😅😂🤣😭

*Further update got 2, 1 was this doll who is stunning in person and hello up and down arm movement not just back & forth! The hair is also really soft on her. The second was the "Barbie" of the bunch and she's also pretty but because of the waves they gave her it doesn't feel as soft, but no gel and the one rubberbanded spot wasn't done bin a way that there's a permanent indent or weird kink. *** Heads up tho... I did figure out the way they designed these new earrings it is possible to put them on backwards. it's not super noticeable but once you see it you can't not and these puppies stay in once their in.

As a child (honestly, even now), I would have tried to create a twister with the confetti in the water. You are missing out on the insanity and messiness. Lol. That doll is cute and I am curious about how the other now. Thanks for posting.

That is definitely an earring. I removed one in a fashionistas (one of the latest ones), and it had that "pointy thing" to not remove it from the ear (I had to remove the head and use an X-acto knife to remove the "hook" part) This Barbie is very cute, when they would arrive here in Italy I'm going to buy it for sure.

I like this doll already. Finally real hair. My 4.5yr old niece has some of the older color reveal dolls. She will like this one even better because she loves styling dolls hair. I would make a tutu for this doll so she could be a dance teacher.

I haven't got to experience the metallic water because they are sold out in my country, so I really wish this water wasn't just cloudy grey. Pretty doll though, I love the long hair! Hopefully the new mermaids will have colourful water!

This is an unpopular opinion but I liked the wigs. I’m a speech therapist and specifically bought one of the first color reveal dolls because of the molded hair, painted on bathing suit, and hard plastic because they’d hold up to heavy play. I liked the opinion of not having actual hair to get tangled and gross.

I have been spoiling my neices and nephews buying them toys and i love seeing thier faces light up with that joy. I wish they had one of these at the bargain store cuz i would have enjoyed doing the project with them.

Codes for the dolls left to right: Orange and blue hair: 1091HF Brown and purple 1101HF Blonde and pink 1111HF Black and blue 1121HF Brown and pink 1131HF These were the codes at a toys r us in Canada. They may be different elsewhere.

the earrings end is a lock and mattel used to do that to barbie earring around the early 2000s. I have a few pieces with those endings :>

I wish I had known that the entire doll wasn’t colored before I let my daughter buy it. This is the first one she bought and she was really disappointed when she opened it and immediately knew which Barbie she got. Kind of ruins the whole color “reveal” in my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't like these colour reveal dolls at all normally but she's cute! I think it's makes a difference giving them actual hair. As a collector it makes me maybe want to get some of this line.

Do you think of it had the Metallic paint with the confetti, do you think you like it more? Like a mixture of the two Cause I think if the water was also more of that beautiful teal and glitter it would make the colors also feel more confetti like. PS, I love watching your color reveals and all your videos, you're so fun, down to earth and up beat and I love it :)

They are earrings. The CPI (corporate product integrity) engineers are always coming up with weird standards that we as designers are frequently annoyed by (and have to adhere to). I wonder why they could not have simply given the post, a gentle flare toward the end instead of that gigantic pointed arrow to keep it from falling out of the doll's head.

How many series of barbie color reveal dolls are there? I'm a long time doll collector too, and I have depression which makes daily self care difficult. I've been using these as rewards, which sounds silly, but it works and they are so much cuter than I expected.

You can sort of read the codes on the top to figure it out but I like better when we know which doll we are getting.

Those were her earrings Melissa, the "barbed" ends are supposed to keep the earrings from pulling out once they're in, but the color reveal dolls tend to be a harder vinyl and don't like to flex enough to get them in.

This series actually has a regular barbie head. The soft squishy kind. It's cool the earrings won't fall out with the barbie.

those are how all barbie earrings are ! they have that so they won’t fall out, some barbies don’t have that on their earrings but most do

sometimes it fades, but only if it's super hot in the room. Otherwise it seems to stay.

The earrings are like that so they stay in. Older Barbie earrings are like that.
