I think the dolls don´t have individual names because every single one of them is Barbie. I believe the idea is that everyone can be Barbie, no matter their ethnicity or size.

@@RC.- this is more accurate. Barbie has always been a toy for children to imprint themselves onto. she becomes u in any given situation its the product Mattel has always been selling. where as MGA is selling specific characters that each kid needs to identify with. its a completely different experience. She's always Ruby little Tina prolly won't name her Tina for play time the way she's gonna call a barbie doll "Tina" in fact on a social level "Barbie" has really gone from the actual name of the doll to the name of the object inside the plastic box. its just a brand now none of the dolls have specific names anymore. no kid says "lets play with my Skylar dolls" they say "lets play with rainbow high dolls i'm Poppy" i feel like not giving the dolls individual names is actually a smarter move on Mattel's end to keep the dolls a bit more separated from all the stuff MGA is dong

I feel like it's only fair to criticize Barbie this hard if you also do an objective review of all the other dolls out there. I've seen a lot of reviewers harshly criticize Barbie but then give MGA a pass for doing similar things. Honestly, if it's just a preference for the style of doll MGA does I'm cool with that. I just was equal criticism. The only thing that has bothered me about the recent Mattel dolls is the shiny/matte skin? I'm not sure how that's happening. For me, I'm not a big fan of the second wave of Barbie Extra, so this one might be the only one I get. I don't feel like I can objectively evaluate MGA's dolls since I really don't like the way they do faces and that's a personal thing, not a quality thing.

I can agree with this, if one prefers a certain line over another it does affect ones opinion. I like a lot of brands and lines. I love Barbie so much, it is difficult to see where she is now. I try to keep in mind all dolls that are out at stores in the same price point. I can understand that liking one brand more does affect a review. I try to take in consideration price, materials, accessories, and overall style. And of course I add my own opinion and thoughts, it's hard not to feel certain ways about dolls that mean so much. All dolls are pretty in their own way.

I feel like as of lately I have been feeling more positive towards MGA’s dolls. They are giving great fabrics and over all better doll styles for the same price that other dolls are giving us thin plastic accessories and not as creative looks. I do look forward to see what Barbie is going to do with the Rewind series. That gives me hope. I never want Barbie to go away or lose popularity. I am forever a Barbie Girl, but other lines have been doing better in the same price range.

I think I like fantasy fashion so I usually stick to hairmaizing or Disney dolls. MGA does a lot of current fashion and I'm not super into that in tandem with the faces.

I think Mattel is doing a great job trying to listen to their customers. Remember that their clientele is really children. Yes adults collect the dolls but they're made for the kids. Also Nutella is doing so much great work with trying to be sustainable. Much more than any other company that's out there. They're making dolls now from recycled plastic and they are also the only doll company that I know that is collecting all the new styles to recycle them. I think we all need to give Mattel a break!

One thing that bothers me about most dolls is they do nice reasonably realistic faces then they have shiny bodies.Why not do Matt bodies so they match with the faces. I noticed with the others too most have shiny bodies .There is no need you can do Matt plastic..I think that’s why a lot of collectors have gone into these designer dolls.But they are so expensive to buy .

I really love this #6 Barbie EXTRA. Her hair's so cute like cotton candy, pretty lavanda long hair; not much accessories but each one is unique, fabulous and extra. I think she has pros and cons but finally design is awesome composition

I don't have any Extra dolls but I'd get this one for the outfit. Outside of the lines with the sisters in them, the dolls don't really have a story or personality so I guess there's no reason to name them. Plus a lot of people will rename their dolls anyway when playing.

I like how they did the pockets in her jacket but the fashion looks so dated and the overall quality of the doll (especially the hair) is not good.

I think I want to add her because I love the hair and the clothes but the only thing for me is her features are so plain otherwise I would have gotten her already. Maybe I can make her actually extra with a make up redo and go over the top and of course I'd have to change her body. Thanks for the review.

I Really love No.6 and 8 but it bothers me on how cheap the hair is, it's made of polypropylene and it's literally like the hair of knock dolls I used to have when I was a kid, I know it because I have no.5, the quality of this dolls will be better if the hair is made of saran, the Extra dolls hair is the worst😢 - Gladly Bratz are coming back!!

I think its way better to name her yourself🤷🏾‍♀️. Kids need more imaginative play these days. I agree w other viewers noting how mga gets a pass but the same folks will talk about how the eyes or off or pieces are missing or even the screenings are off but will still give mga a pass though they’re expensive (and theoretically should have top notch quality and not missing pieces etc)

Quality is so important too, all brands have to step it up. It is very competitive. I love Barbie and always will. But even if we love something we have to be real that things like hair quality has not been the same for Barbie. At least this line comes with cute accessories.

TBH I hate the millie sculpt I only bought a doll with her face so my dolls had a mtm body. Nylon hair is a nightmare looks frizzy and dry after time. I just can't with this doll. Every part of this doll irritates me. I like pink denim but those sleeves would need to be replaced. I would have preferred a skirt the shorts is dumb. At least sunglasses have translucent lenses.

I agree. I hate the Millie sculpt. It needs to be retired. I’m just not a fan of these extra dolls.

@@dmeyer7425 I'd like to see the Goddess or Aphrodite head replace millie as the standard barbie face. MACKIE was the standard for a long time for signature barbie head mold. So the other 2 rarely got used. Aphrodite has a glimmer of superstar face but not over the top. And goddess was to me normal.

@@GwendyddStclair The Aphrodite is a pretty face, it does resemble superstar. I have a couple of the Millie sculpt. The heads are just too big compared to the body. I have some of the Mackie too and I like those a lot better than Millie. Time for something new!!

@@dmeyer7425 yes but Mattel hasn't sculpted a new sculpt to be the new stardard for barbie. Millie wasn't really barbie. The only millie I'd get would be the BMR1959 curly tall blonde. And give her a hair treatment but she wouldn't be named barbie. She looks to young, annoyingly perky you just want to slap her and christie be the one to do it. Because christie got shunned.

They are pretty but man they look very similar to the first wave and I feel like if Mattel doesn’t do something diff people are going to get tired of this line . I will give them “ only “ some props for upping the layered quality ofclothing . They could def do better like Mga status! I’m getting tired of seeing these one note color plastic pieces with no detail ! Ughhh

I like her face and hair but wish the fashion was more like Rainbow high......I feel like the extra dolls clothing is too much all thrown together into one outfit but having just a single piece mixed in with other pieces makes it more palatable. I wish her earring were removable and more metallic colors for the accessories would really pop on the doll.
