You always do the best makeovers! 😍 A tip for hair straightening: even on the lowest setting, the hair cand burn (unfortunately, it happened to me). To stay safe, put it on the lowest setting (mine is 150), and then after it has reached the temperature, I turn it off and let it cool just a little bit. Test it on a strand of hair somewhere in between , where the hair is not that visible. If you sense even just a bit of sticking, stop the process and let it cool for another minute. You may need to repeat this a couple of times in order to do the whole hair, as it will get cold while straightening. But this is how I do it and it's worked very well so far! 😊

Fashionistas, when introduced, were on a Made to Move body with higher quality. But Mattel is keeping the Looks line on an adult level (for photography), knowing it's not a style segment aimed at children (i.e. no Color Reveal, bright colors etc.) whereas they can crank out the Fashionistas of today for cheap because they have little quality clothing and sometimes questionable hair.

hair tip, If you do a boil perm/wash in a pot of boiling water rather than a glass it will completely straighten it. You just dip & then comb it flat while it still hot. You have to do it pretty quick, but be careful not to burn yourself. its easier and safer than using the flat iron.

I picked up a set of Createable World dolls when they first came out, but they are put away in the closet. I’ll have to pull them out! I’m just a grandmother who has always loved dolls, and in recent months I’ve purchased a couple Barbie Looks dolls (also BMR1959), but not petite ones, yet. You’ve given me some ideas, thank you. 🤗

I loved to know that it's parted in the middle. Also, I love how long her amazing hair is. I'm still wondering whether I'll restyle her hair, though. To me it looks nice the way it is. But I have to confess I loved the way she turned out after you boilwashed and restyled yours. She looks fantastic 😍!!! You did a great job. Here in Brazil, these dolls cost about 350 reals, which is equivalent to 63 dollars in the US. You see, they're too expensive for us. That's what makes me hesitant to change her as I'm not as skilful as you are. Anyway, I might give it a shot. She looks even prettier with her hair loose and straightened out.

I liked the first outfit best, but they are all great. I have this doll and she is awesome. The face AND the hair on one doll made me say “wow”! Here in Canada, the Looks are $35-40, with some marked down to $30. That is about double the price of a Fashionista on Amazon, although if Walmart stocks them, they are $10. So, in dollar amounts, it’s not much, but it is still double or triple. I think it is worth it, though, especially since made-to-move dolls are $25 here.

The biggest surprise in restyling this doll is that she has a part. I'm leery about buying dolls with their hair up like this and generally they don't have a part and it creates styling nightmares for me if I want to wear their hair straight. I completely agree with you about the prices. The Looks dolls are a great deal for the quality, especially compared to the fashionistas. A tip for you... I think you have to make she use the rainbow righ closes she can use all because she's perfect size. So forget Barbie closes and use the best doll close's ever , rainbow righ. Use only shoes for Barbie and accessories.

Wow, I LOVE what you did with her hair. It's a bit of a mess as it comes. For me the second outfit was to DIE FOR!!! Sooo pretty. I will provably rebody her to an 80s body. Not a fan of MTM or petite.

I did this with the tall long haired looks doll and melted her hair and of course I started on the side of her head. Are they not the same hair? Or more likely I did something really wrong. Love what you did with her hair, I'm reticent to try again.

If you need to fix the lips. You take 100% pure acetone takes Q-tip remove the factory paint off the lips pick your favorite color nail polish with a toothpick and repaint those lips back on. Super simple

Fashionistas are not made to move but she and the rest of the Looks Dolls are so I can see why these is a difference of 12 dollars in price. I think we are lucky to get these as cheap as we do. Also, I am not a Mattel apologist as I got the first Petite in this collection and her leg snapped off on me. =-( I think Mattel is really competing with MGA here. Which is why we are getting as much quality as we are with the Looks Dolls. Just my 2 cents.

I have her in or in the listing is said to her hair can be flat ironed and I also when I was taking her out the bus is very hard to take her out because when I took out the box I had to take my scissors and cut it but in the back of her head that thing was stuck her head so I had to cut it and it kind of like sniffing little bit on her hair off and also and I was trying to flat iron her hair I only put a little piece in there to see her head before iron and I almost burnt the heck out of her head so I also think that the computer warning right there where you buy it to say not too far iron it
