It's true xavi dictate everything make the midfield look smaller for there opponent but Messi and iniesta were responsible to change the pace of the game. You can't pass non-stop, you need those special penetration when it seems there's no possibility, they did that very well

Tiki taka is football to the highest technical degree and yet the most misunderstood one sometimes called "boring". Anyone that has played football and/or watched football to a good knowledgeable level knows how difficult it is to pull of certain first touches, shielding, awareness of the opponents press, pass accuracy, create space or use the little space there is. All these things added up to unlock even the toughest of defences. It's actually more of a science/maths than an art. It's beautiful.

I always enjoyed it even as a kid. If you shall try to show football as an art, to a non football watcher. i think that the Barca team from 08-12 was the absolute preak of the beautiful game. most will agree or they have a small spectre of what art is. In my opinion.

I don’t really follow soccer, but this video made me real nostalgic for those 2010 era Barca teams. Now I go check the roster and I don’t recognize any of the current Barca players. Bunch of no name players now. Need to bring back the OGs like Iniesta, Xavi, and Messi. Very sad how Barca has fallen. Many are saying!!!

People say tiki-tata is not effective anymore ... NO the new players can't play high level tiki-taka. You need players that can actually do it or ... is not going to work

Tiki- taca is trully not effective anymore because the rising of high-pressure trend (since 2016) All team in this time took the wrong way to play against tiki taca : sit back too deep and passivity waiting. If opponent teams play with the very-high defend-block and make high-pressure ( like prime Klopp'sLiverpool), i think tiki-taka will be not effective like this. Now so many many teams can play high-press at every European top leagues. Pep is not stupid man. But now he known that tiki taca will not work anymore. So he didn't try it anymore at Man City.

@@anyaforger6723 I appreciate your take but I don't think so. Technical players can break pressure ease. May be for few minutes till the team gets tired , they may have some success. Tiki-taka masters will pass you to death and control the game even easier if you try to waist your energy. This is the reason they parked the bus vs chasing the wind. Typical example was the final in London vs Man. United / 3:1 for Barca/. United tried to press but it lasted 15-20 minutes and they were DONE .

I think iniesta is the whole difference as to why barca tiki taka was not stagnant and yielded results he knew how to attack the spaces,, break the defensive structure cause panic and he knew where to pass the ball despite running the ball most elite teams that play tiki taka will need two elite midfielders to break that line,,,,it also helped Messi was there (no additions) xavi was the controller busi was the pivot,,,, alves always brought further chaos,,,,,, (any team with these five characters will defeat anyone they come across) because of the outlets and spaces they would creat

Some of the great goals from Tiki Taka come from breaking the short pass formation. This is the element of surprise essential to Tiki Taka. The goal scoring shot is out of character from the short, close passes. For this to work, you need good players who can shoot creatively but they participate in Tiki Taka. Tiki Taka can get disrupted by good interceptions, fast bursting strikers or midfielders, long accurate passes to forwards, exceptional defenders (think Sweden, Germany) or exceptional sprinters (think Ronaldo Nazario or Mbappe)
