Been to Barcelona lots of times in the last 25 years the main problem is not tourism it’s migration and vulture property investors pricing local people out of habitation the local population are afraid that Barcelona is losing the culture that makes it special

Wonder how many jobs will be lost and places shut down if tourists stay away.

As an American who speaks Spanish with a Mexican born wife, my dream at retirement is to take her to Spain. I’ve been to Madrid and Toledo, it was a great experience. Knowledgeable tourists stay away from Barcelona because of the cruise ships and log jam of tourists. But if Barcelona is going to treat tourists with this kind of disrespect, I’ll take our holiday money elsewhere.

Be funny if no tourists went to Spain. The arse would fall out the place.

There are many other places around Europe that would appreciate your money and are as equally beautiful. You will also find that they are way cheaper. Barcelona is sooo expensive. Been once and would never go back, never felt safe at night.

Those people have walked right into the cycle lane. Most cyclists don't use the lane. That guy who stopped certainly didn't.

was on a Mediterranean cruise couple of years ago and the Ship needed some kind of refit so we spent 3 days in Barcelona, went to La Rambla etc but no my cup of tea, give me resorts like Benidorm any day.

No you're not Stupid Kev. It's extremely easy to stray into these lanes. In fact I'm sure they love it, as it gives them a reason to be abusive to tourists! Usually, an apology is accepted with a smile, not a death threat! 😉 p.s. watch your pockets in Barcelona, and it's not the tourists you need to worry about!

Oh dear i’ve done that myself, wandered into a cycle lane and got shouted out 😳 Nice is also a lovely place to visit but pebbly beach. Cheap buses and trams though

If you were to remove the tourists from your video, you might have a dozen or so locals. Most of those bars/restaurants would vanish. If this issue is property ownership, then Barcelona is not alone. London is also unaffordable to people due to so-called foreign investment, and yes, the problem should be addressed, but dont bite the hand that feeds you without tourists the economy nose dives. The government should make owning multiple properties impossible for foreign nationals, whether personally or through companies.

English need to take note and start doing something about all the foreign people given our locals houses over people who have lived in the area the whole life

i have been to barcelona a few times didnt like it. was just scruffy, overpriced, full of theives and miserable locals who hate the spanish as well as the english. id rather go to madrid where tourists are appreciated a bit.

OF all the major med cities Barcelona didn't appeal to me at all, just like Madrid, Naples and Milan it's overrated, overpriced, full of criminals and dirty in places.

That Black Lab is great for craft beers and they do some nice fodder also. I stay not far from their when In Barca. Take a walk down the beach to Port Olympic man. Some nice bars, restaurants and a nice view onto the marina. If you do want a laugh go on the cable car. Shites the live outta me lol but would make awesome content with the views you get ;-)

Nope Kevin Barcelona is a city break that just has a beach 😂 A few years back there was a severe storm and high waves,(for the Mediterranean) washed away the beach. The city had to import mega tons of sand to repair the beach. I won't add the probability of why that 🛴 rider was angry but use your own imagination 😎 Cheers DougT
